Great tip, i just started and just got the scanner, cant wait to try this out :)
@toddkes58903 жыл бұрын
@@holybleachbottle8318 Once you get the Scanner room operational, you'll find it is power-hungry. The nice part is you can put a Hatch on one side and a pair of Solar Panels on top. You can then use the Scanner room for basic storage and construction. The two Solar Panels will cover the Scanner Room's power demands when the sun is up, so you can find stuff nearby. Adding extra Solar Panels to store power for night-time scanning is a good idea. Each Solar Panel will need 2 Quartz, 2 Titanium, and 1 Copper

Thanks for the tips. I thought it worth mentioning especially if you don't have the battery charger.. Not only does the Power cell recharge. If you have a flat battery, take it out of the item, MAKE SURE ITS THE ONLY BATTERY YOU ARE CARRYING..! Then get 1 piece of titanium to construct a scanner tool.. the fabricator will then use the flat battery to construct it, charging the battery in the process.. Unload the battery from the scanner and chuck the scanner in a bin or overboard.. Costs 1 piece of titanium. :)

Also, if you need magnetide and lithium and you dont have the seamoth to dive deep, just swim or use the seaglider to get to the alien base thingy. Keep walking past it until you reach a trail that leads up. At the top you’ll find an entrance to a cave PACKED with diamond, magnetide, lithium, and gold. Keep exploring and going deep, I swear it never runs out of materials. On a side note, if you are swimming all the way over there, make sure to stay at the surface cuz it’s mad scary.

Just about to start my next minimalist Hardcore swim-only run. No Seaglide, Seamoth, Prawn Suit, and a Cyclops only to fabricate. Minimalist meaning only- one basic tubular compartment (2-x titanium), a hatch (2-x titanium, and 1-x quartz), a solar panel (2-x quartz, 2-x titanium, and 1-x copper), a thermal generator (5-x titanium, 2-x magnetite, and 1-x Aerogel), a bioreactor (3-x titanium, 1-x wiring kit, and 1-x lubricant), Fins (2-x silicon rubber), Standard O2 tank (3-x titanium), Rebreather (1-x wiring kit, and 1-x fiber mesh), Radiation suit (2-x fiber mesh, and 2-x lead), Reinforced diving suit (1-x synthetic fibers, 2-x diamonds, and 2-x titanium), a standard tool set (survival knife, flashlight, repair tool, scanner, habitat tool, and laser cutter), a Mobile Vehicle Bay to build the Cyclops and Rocket base (1-x titanium ingot, 1-x lubricant, and 1-x Power cell), and 2-x creature decoys (3-x titanium and 1-x wiring kit) one for the Inactive lava zone and the other for the Lava lakes (the risk of being OHK'd by the Sea Dragons is too great to not have them and there is no way I am going all that way to be immediately snapped out of existence). All fabrication will be done from the starting Lifepod, I will be navigating purely from sight and the PDA waypoints (no compass), and I won't be recharging any batteries. The idea being, I will start out from Lifepod 5, sprint swim to each location, build the basic habitat and power source suited to the area it is in to keep my O2 topped up, do what I need to do, take down the basic habitat (and power source), and move on to the next location. Food, water, fuel (for the bioreactor), and all crafting materials will be scavenged as I go. To date I have successfully completed several swim-only runs, with each one being more restrictive than the last. If, or rather when, I am successful with this one, I will then attempt a run minus the Fins, Standard O2 tank, Rebreather, Radiation suit (I will be packing all the First Aid kits I can carry), Reinforced diving suit (again I will be packing all the First Aid kits I can carry), and the Creature decoys. Tbh I am not even sure if this will be possible as I have spent minimal time in game without the Radiation and Reinforced diving suits, but I will give it a go. What's the worst that can happen?
@Gazman0119696 ай бұрын
Scrap that. I have just had the urge to do all of the above, but minus the thermal generator and bioreactor, replacing them with a series of Power transmitters (1-x gold, and 1-x titanium) from a single solar panel, which will need to stay in place capturing the sun's rays once I hit the bulb zone, and the Rebreather (negating the need to fabricate a High capacity O2 tank). I am also going to attempt to go without the Radiation suit and Reinforced diving suits (no point holding it off). In theory, if I survive that I could do without the Fins, and Standard O2 tank, but I've got to leave something for my next run.

For anyone insane enough to give this a go, here's a checklist I drew up. Subnautica minimalist Hardcore swim-only run checklist. [ ] - Basic tubular compartment (2-x titanium) [ ] - Hatch (2-x titanium, & 1-x quartz) [ ] - Solar panel (2-x titanium, 2-x quartz, & 1-x copper) [ ] - Thermal generator (5-x titanium, 2-x magnetite, & 1-x Aerogel) [ ] - Fins (2-x silicon rubber) [ ] - Standard O2 tank (3-x titanium) [ ] - Survival knife (1-x titanium, & 1-x silicone rubber) [ ] - Flashlight (1-x battery, & 1-x glass) [ ] - Scanner (1-x titanium, & 1-x battery) [ ] - Repair tool (1-x titanium, 1-x silicon rubber, & 1-x cave sulphur) [ ] - Habitat tool (1-x battery, 1-x wiring kit, & 1-x computer chip) [ ] - Laser cutter (1-x titanium, 1-x battery, 1-x cave sulphur, and 2-x diamonds) [ ] - Mobile Vehicle bay (1-x titanium ingot, 1-x lubricant, & 1-x power cell) * to craft the Cyclops & Rocket base [ ] - Power transmitters (1-x titanium, & 1-x gold for each one) [ ] - Creature decoys (3-x titanium, and 1-x wiring kit for two) [ ] - First Aid kits (1-x fibre mesh for each one) Note. I have not tried it yet, but I fear there may be too many sheer drops to make using only Power transmitters from the Solar panel a viable option, hence the inclusion of the Thermal generator. If you can do without it, more power to you. Well less actually, but you get what I mean. Step #01 Fabricate the Fins, Standard O2 tank, Survival knife, Repair tool, and 47-x First Aid kits. Step #02 Repair the Aurora, carrying only the Repair tool, Fins, and the maximum 47-x First Aid kits to swim at maximum speed by sticking to the surface. Step #03 Find and fabricate everything else. Step #04 Complete the run. Easier said than done. Good luck, and remember no matter what happens there is always the view.

Well it is 100% do-able. In order to be able to have enough space to fabricate 47-x First Aid kits you do need to also fabricate at least 2-x Storage boxes, but you probably won't need that many as I managed to repair the Aurora with just 20. I went right after it exploded, by which time I had the 47 in my inventory, and it was surprisingly a lot easier than I thought it would be, with the only real obstacle being traversing the crates to get to the Loading Bay (the 1454 door) as visibility was right down on the count of the constant radiation damage and low light levels in that part of the ship, so I ended up having to wing it over by continually running and jumping near the lowest small crates. I then pegged it to the Drive Core, made all the repairs, almost drowning in the process, and legged it out of there swimming away from the Aurora until I was taking no more radiation damage. I can see the main risk during this run will not be the Sea Dragons, it will be my impatience, as having a low and rapidly depleting O2 level makes drowning a massive risk once you hit the 100M mark if you are not prepared to take many baby steps to get to where you need to go, meaning progress is very slow and laborious (fabricating 47-x First Aid kits using only the Lifepod fabricator and First Aid station is an absolute ball-ache btw). I ended up drowning near Lifepod 6 looking for parts to scan for the Cutting Tool a mere 5M from the surface stupidly pushing my time under water to the absolute limit. Lesson learned? Probably not tbf, but I will give it another go when I get home from work later on today. One thing is for sure, the grind is going to hit hard with this run, but you know what they say, no pain no gain.

Hi. Why your character doesn't need water or food? Mine is always hangry and thirsty. Maybe mine is sick. I spend a lot fishing and cathing the pink fish to create water.

Want to hear a horrible thing? I didn’t know about metal salvage until like 12 hours of play time. Had no clue that you could get titanium from them. Feelsbadman
