**Yes at 3.5 grs you will barely hear anything but there is no way it will cycle and AR so I'M GOING ALL THE WAY TO 6 grs on the AR AND STILL NOT CYCLING so I order a gas adjusting block and reducing the buffer spring pressure and hopefully that will take care of the cycling problem in my AR otherwise i will still have the supersonic sound🪀⚡🪀

I have the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. It is fantastic even with Russian Steel. I am running a Silencerco Omega on it. Last week I hunted hogs with subsonic rounds with great success. First trip I shot 3 and dropped 2 quick. One went about 200 yards after impact. The next trip every hog I shot ran 200-300 yards. Although it is Hollywood quiet and fun to hunt with I am going back to supers. We don't bring most of them back to eat so, them running off is not a factor but, I still like to make a quick human kill even on pests. I am going to change the mag plate on my Ruger to use AR mags because I run 7.62x39 in my home-built AR's the current factory setup uses the Ruger Mini-30 mag. As a side note. My gun is sighted one inch high at a 100 with supers and drops 14" with subs. At 40-50 it is about 4" low. Even though I have a second focal plane scope. I easily worked out my holds. Loving your channel!

That sounds awesome! That's definitely something that I want to do someday, a texas hog hunt.

So, the video is appreciated. I've got almost the exact same setup .... Ruger American Ranch in 5.56, the can, the glass, etc. Couple of things you may want to consider. Always work-up subsonic loads from the top down rather than the bottom up (to avoid squibs or obstructed pipes). Always keep the ranges short and shoot into cardboard or paper to make sure your rounds are not keyholing. It is advisable to lube your pills when rolling your own subsonics ... but that's a preference thing. Wish you had been more forthright with info, such as .... we must assume you were using fluffy Trail Boss, correct? Comments on case fill? As you went to 7 grains did you notice any pressure signs? What can is that on your rifle? What glass? Vortex II? What pill weight? 52, 55, 62, 69, 75, 77 grains? Did you try any other propellants such as H110 or N310, etc? What pill in terms of FMJs or JHPs? What primers? All of these things might help us to understand the lobbing you were experiencing out to 150 yards ... which is waaaaaaay too far to really test these loads. Anyway, thank you for the video. I liked, subscribed and commented (obviously) so may the algorithm gods smile favorably upon your channel ... keep it going. More pertinent info per second will get you there friend. Beautiful backdrop, the area in which you reside and shot this video.

What are your groupings like zack out to 75yds?
@ZachTries3 жыл бұрын
I haven't actually taken it to a real range to see any grouping. From what i did here and at other spots, it's not tooooo good. But probably within a couple inches if I took it to a range.

Nice video! Which one of the Hodgdon powders you using? Any fillers in the case or something like that?

Trail boss! I’ll probably make a video of the recipe here pretty soon. No fillers.

Will it kill a deer at close range in the vitals like the 55gr v max? I’m having trouble with the 300 blackout subsonic Ammo killing deer. They run away
@ZachTries2 жыл бұрын
Probably not. Subsonic 55 gr is going to have significantly less energy than the 110-124 gr 300 blackout. Even at close range.
