This was the first video I clicked on this morning as I’m excited about this new possible relationship. I’ve been out of a four year relationship for a year now and getting back in the dating scene. I found a guy that I really really like and I’m overwhelmed with my crush and experiencing relationship anxiety in small ways to trying to Nippet in the bud hypervigilance rumination are definitely my things. Thank you so much for understanding and making this video. It made me feel seen and that I have tools to forward.

Thank you so much for making this. I’m a checker who can’t afford a therapist and it’s really scary, having to constantly debate whether or not I should be in a relationship because my anxiety gives me too many false alarms. It’s refreshing, to watch this.

i just discovered I have this too! Never been in a relationship... def do a lot of the avoidance and when I think "maybe I really like this one", the checking and ruminating starts... How has it been going for you?

@@hannekepeeters I'm single now! But I would recommend keeping an open mind to having a romantic life / try to find someone you can really trust. It's not easy but once you can find that person, being with them makes you forget you have anxiety/OCD at all. It also helps to hang out with friends/family more often :)

I match all criteria for ROCD. Finding your channel was a blessing! My thing is that I tend to have these obsessions and compulsions more so based on how the other person feels about ME. Like “do you love me the most?”, “do you have as much fun with me as you did your ex?”, etc etc. I’m never satisfied with the answer and seek the perfect answer. Just wanted to check if this is still considered rocd?

Sounds like ocd intrusive thoughts to me.

@@MyOCDCoach @My OCD Coach, Danielle Thornton hello , you said in other videos that perfection doesn't exist ....I have Rocd ...and thought of asking my partner to to do a plastic surgery...but then I thought that might be. Part of ocd... what should I do ?.. because I'm thinking that some actresses are perfect

I have had ocd for my whole life (im only 19) and i have never had this theme of ocd until i started dating this guy i really like

OCD will attach to new themes or topics, until we learn how to respond to fear/uncertainty/discomfort differently! Then you can keep it from attaching to new things. My programs are here for you to learn this so you can have a happy, fulfilling relationship! www.MyOCDCoach.com or www.MyAttachmentCoach.com

Me and my bf are from different Christian religions, but that’s not a problem for us AT ALL We’ve talked about marriage and kids to already have a way to handle those topics, and we really love eachother. But it’s so hard with the ROCD…
@MyOCDCoach5 ай бұрын
It can be hard, but when you get to the recovery stage and learn how to stay there as much as possible, it doesn’t have to be hard.

Hey, thanks for the vid, really enjoyed! One thing I can’t seem to get my head round, surely you need to think about how you feel about a person, because otherwise you could end up going out with someone you’re not that into? So how do you get around doing this without doing it compulsively? For me it’s hard, I have this sicky anxious feeling in my stomach when I date due to ROCD and I always avoid as soon as I know the other person likes me, it’s like I’ll never be able to have a romantic connection again
@MyOCDCoach2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been there! Compulsions themselves are not bad, meaning everybody seeks reassurance once in a while, everybody notices their feelings, and analyzes what they like or don’t like when they’re dating somebody new. But somebody with OCD is going to do this exponentially more often. This is why it’s so important to work with a specialist like myself or someone else who understands OCD, and the recovery process, so that we can help you navigate what is healthy behavior, and what becomes unhealthy coping mechanisms that reinforce the OCD cycle.

I broke up with a girl who has diagnosed OCD, Sever Anxiety and a lot of past trauma. I want to send this to her. But I cannot give her anymore of myself because experiencing ROCD has had significant negative effects on me. But I love her. What do I do please.
@MyOCDCoach3 ай бұрын
Only you can decide if this relationship is what you want or not. You can still send this to her and have boundaries:)

@@MyOCDCoach Thanks for saying that. I know she’s worth it, and as much damaged as I’ve undertook as a result I still want to fight for this relationships More of my question is, if she doesn’t figure out this information on her own and it comes from me. Will that feed this codependency/anxiety problem?
