Her EXACT tone of voice at 2:34 triggers me to my mother who also has BPD and would berate me in that way when I was a child. She would start off calmly badgering my character, and then any time I started speaking up for myself, she would raise her tone at me, just like Amber did to Johnny right then and there. There's absolutely no point in defending yourself after a BPD episode like Amber had, it just makes them angrier. That's why JD would lock himself away in the bathroom, because he couldn't defend himself until she calmed down from her manic episode.

That’s the trap they lay out. I’m a survivor myself and after a year of being degraded and insulted, made to feel like nothing- I finally snapped back. If he were an abuser, she wouldn’t taunt him like this. She wouldn’t chase after him, she would not provoke him. Imagine, manically laughing and provoking a person who you knew was dangerous. You wouldn’t. You can tell by how deranged her laugh gets, she has no control over herself - a victim would be terrified always trying to keep themselves in check so they don’t set the abuser off. It’s really scary. It’s as if she to push him over the edge so she can use it against him. Depp clearly has a lot going on, he was probably hugely difficult to deal with. An abuser though, he is not. He’s seriously broken and she’s getting off on it, she’s laughing.
