I get your point, and absolutely believe AH is the perpetrator & I'm all for JD. But just want to point out this may not always be the case. In an abusive relationship, a victim can become unusually attached to their abuser when a very powerful psychological connection known as a "trauma bond" is formed. (Crazy psychology fact : being bonded through trauma is more intense than that of love). When a victim is used to constant mistreatment, any little perceived act of kindness (or just civility) feels like a huge act to them. Its called giving "crumbs". (When you're starving, you'll eat every little crumb you're given- AND be so grateful for it). Its really sad I know. Then, the victim, not even realizing this trauma bond exists, believes they just deeply "love" their abuser, may desperately seek their approval, and even blame themselves for everything, so they actually often DO beg the abuser to stay. And the abuser -knowing ALL of this- often uses the threat of leaving, physically/ OR emotionally, (silent treatment, being emotionally cold, distant/unavailable, etc) as a means to control, punish, or otherwise hurt the victim.

Kelly Radich. I agree. Many situations where the woman claims DV and has actual evidence such as a broken nose, are situations like this.
