Both cases highlight how militaries can be misused for political power consolidation, undermining their primary role of protecting citizens and ensuring national security, however, for how long will this go on?

Only former LRA who surrendered were drafted to front lines. Most frontline forces are from Northern Uganda as it was since colonial times, Kings African Rifles etc...
