Spotting hidden matching pairs take practice, but after learning what to watch for it becomes easier. If poosible use 2 little numbers only in a cell until you get really stuck. It's easier to spot hidden patterns with fewer little numbers in a cell.

@SudokuGuy7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Shorouk. If I understand you correctly the 2,4 in row 2 is a matching pair, but what happens in row 1 depends on what numbers are in the columns below. Therefore I can't say anything about the #1. Hope this helps.

I enjoy your lessons on sudokus, but here I already fail to understand the very first step, the place of the 6 as a single. What excludes a possible 6 candidate in the left middle row of the second block, the one that has 1-2-3-4 candidates in it? If there was an imaginary 6 in the left column of the middle block elsewhere (not shown in this example) then there should not be a 6 in the lower left row of the middle block either. The only thing you know for sure, there is no 6 in the top row. All other empty cells in the middle and right block are potential candidates for a 6 as well.
@SudokuGuy6 жыл бұрын
The 6 in the middle of block 3 is the ONLY place for a 6 to go in that row. ie row 2, therefore due to the 6 in the top row of block 1 and using TMB (lesson1) there are 6's in block 2 row 3. Hope this helps. This tutorial is for advanced players. www.sudokuguy.com to see all lessons and tutorials.

Hidden matching pairs enable you to remove other small numbers.Matching pairs are very important when solving. as if you solve one number then you have another solved. for more information about matching pairs go to tutorial #88 . Robin I also suggest you watch the video again
@winniehaha57556 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, Love your videos and explanations! I understand why you underline your matching pairs but at 5:04 I was not able to figure out why you underlined the 1,4 in the top left corner of the top middle block. I don't see the other half of a 1,4 matching pair at that point. Thanks again for all you do!
@SudokuGuy6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. You don't have to underline the 4/1. I do this t let me know that only 4 or a 1 can go there. Once you are very experienced this is not needed at all.

I couldnt even figure out the concept, even though I wanted to learn this for quite some time. However, Not one of the pages of those little books of puzzles you buy look like your puzzles. I restarted more then a dozen puzzles yesterday and got blocked. I finished one though....1!!!! lol
