I bought an EVject 8 months ago for my and my family's safety while Supercharging. I received an e-mail from them last week that they will replace my model for free with their revised version 1.2. A stand up company. Not believing their early model to have a problem, I won't be sending it back for replacement. And, I ordered and paid for a new version to support this company.

One solution to a wand or wand tip that gets hot is ridges. The ridges act like cooling fins so the ridges are cooler than the wand and hold the skin away from the hot wand body. I have had stuff made this way and you never get burned. The only issue is crud in the ridges bakes in there. Does NOT work with metal ridges, which are hot.

Instead of a key fob or built into the third button on the garage remote to allow emergency release, an idea may be a built in break/accelerator code. It may be slight quicker to emergency release by pushing accelerator, accelerator, break, break, break pedals in that exact order and that allows the release which puts the car automatically into drive then the driver can instantly drive. That would have to come from Tesla engineers though. Just an idea 😊

I always thought they should have something in-place that makes this issue be resolved behind a “In the moment paywall. It doesn’t wait to pull ur credit card, but it would become a pending bill on your Tesla account. Some sort of mechanism that can shoot the charger out onto the ground or have a safe seam to brake away from (just like the connector that got sued), but it costs you $99 to do it. And then if you can prove it was something you truly needed to do in that moment via dashcam footage. Tesla could refund you that charge. It gives everyone the freedom to do it, but has a way to prevent people from abusing it because they are too lazy to get out of the car. If someone wants to donate $99 to maintain the supercharger division because they are too lazy to get out of their car. By all means they can pay extra money to drop the charger on the ground (which tons of people do already)

There is a disconnect option for unlocking the charge port. Tesla needs to put an ejection spring on the connector to force it out. That would end the problem and eliminate the adapter. This could be a retrofit either to the male or female side of the connector. Also, I'm sure many people will forget or ignore the breakaway when they charge. We need something passive.

Good talk. EV charging is at mostly unattended locations so security is definitely a concern to be addressed. Clearly Craig and EVject have thought it through. For safety an emergency disconnect should be included at either the charge level or the vehicle manufacturer level. The question is will Tesla and the industry try to accomplish it in a way that bypasses EVjects patents or will they pay to license the technology or buy the company? In any case it’s ultimately a feature that should be built into the system.

Sounds to me like Elon, kind of put a boot in the behind of some of his workers and said start working with these people. Their product isn’t completely bad. It just needs some improvements for the future and I do believe Tesla especially Elon within Tesla likes to future proof His products as best as they can. if they can ruling out possible scenarios and that’s not all bad to future proof products so you don’t have to go and turn around and redo them again or send out a bulletin trying to warn people who don’t read instructions all the time that a previous product do not meet the specifications of the new amp range or voltage range or whatever I mean after all, I do see a time when 1000 A at a charger may not be that far-fetched especially with semi trucks getting into the game and as for the voltage, I do see it maybe exceeding 1000 V eventually if it hasn’t already and I just missed it as far as what goes into the vehicle for charging. I mean after all if you wanna look at where the automotive industry may be going take a look at cat and they’re mining equipment. That’s gonna be all electric. That’s quite impressive. The amount of power they’re using for charging. Wouldn’t mind seeing a video about that either hint hint, Kim😁 would be an interesting video out of the norm to do an industrial one about cat great video thanks
