Fixing an overworked epoxy resin

What do you do when you have overworked a piece and the colours start to blend too much? We have all been there when you think you have gone too far and spoiled a piece. In this video,​ you will see how I over-blended the colours and how I turned a plain and boring piece into an interesting (well I think so) piece.

Gorgeous piece. What kind of resin are you using. It seems you have quite a longer bit of "working" time with it.. Thanks for a wonderful video. No music, and clear instructions . Love it.

Thank you Barbara. I use U Resin which I get here in Australia. I guess you need to experiment with your own particular resin for how long to leave it etc. I would test it every 10 mins to see how it is looking. You are looking for a thick consistency, but not too thick that it won't level itself out. My early videos had music and subtitles mainly because I was too nervous to speak. However, I personally don't like videos with music and I prefer voice overs. So I had to overcome my fear and go for it. I still get nervous and have a tendency to waffle on when I am nervous. I guess I will get better with time.

That's really beautiful, and it's well highlight with the ink you used, it really makes it pop,, great ideas, and something I could do, I've got a few ideas for a canvas after watching you do this one ,with tinted PVA glue as a base, not sure if it would work or not, but won't know till I try!!! I've lots of beads that can be used from dagger beads to gemstone round beads to crystals and polymer leafs that I might try , might add a bit of glitter, so we will see.🏵🌹🌻🌷

Really pretty. Whenever I use acrylic diamonds, they usually turn upside down in the resin, so no sparkle! How do you get around this problem?

You have to make sure you have plenty on the board.

The gems look like table decorations for weddings. I bought mine online in the UK, just look for scatter crystals or celebration table decorations.

They were tubes of acrylic paint, and they are Mont Marte Acrylics. Note, I don't use acrylic paint anymore. I started with them and then moved on to pigments over time.

I use acrylic gems or decoration fillers. You can usually find them in the candle section. They are designed to go in the bottom of vases for decoration.
