As for "songs that made the album despite having been rejected before" (apart from Never Gonna Dance Again), my guesses are: Back When - co-written by Dallas Austin (who they closely worked with during Taller) but none of the girls, somewhat similar in style to Ugly Mended By You - not co-written by all three, only by Keisha & Heidi 3 Spoons of Suga - rumored to even be from the Three sessions, but source of that is debatable; obviously Heidi really loved it and maybe pushed for it to be on the album finally My Love Is Pink - rumored to be written for Girls Aloud initially, but rejected by them - this song really does sound like something from Girls Aloud, but it is Xenomania after all... Surprise - debatable, since it's co-written by Dr. Luke and Cathy Dennis just like About You Now Open the Door - same as Surprise but also credits Keisha & Heidi, but not Amelle
@Philipp199672 жыл бұрын
Not sure about my love is pink since Keisha and Heidi co-wrote it. Maybe there is a demo and they changed lyrics. 3 spoons of sugar the same. All 3 co-wrote it so if it's from three they changed the lyrics. And the fact that sometimes only Keisha or Keisha/Heidi are named is because they changed the contract. During Sugababes album 2-4 all girls were always credited even if Mutya or Heidi didn't write a line, they were listed next to Keisha. They changed it on Change and C&S. As well as lost the lost tapes where Siobhan co-wrote every song, closely followed by Keisha and Mutya didn't write half of it
@maritta25042 жыл бұрын
@@Philipp19967 rumor has it Nadine did a demo of My Love is Pink and GA didn't like the song, but since the demo is obviously not available it's a bit hard to verify. It's entirely possible though that both 3 Spoons and My Love were (slightly? 🤷🏼♀️) reworked by them, just like Never Gonna Dance Again was, and that's why they are still credited (Beyonce for example also gets writing credits if she just changes some words in the lyrics :D). But like I said, those are just my guesses. 🤷🏼♀️
@Philipp199672 жыл бұрын
@@maritta2504 Ah yes Beyonce and her writing skills coming out of nowhere since the album 4 lol. I actually consider Keisha a decent songwriter so I think she can do more than just change lyrics but well, we will never know
@maritta25042 жыл бұрын
@@Philipp19967 well, I do think Keisha is a very capable songwriter too... But agree, we will never know how much input they really had. In many interviews they mention writing the lyrics though (not the melody), so I do think that some or all members might occasionally have gotten writing credits here and there when they didn't completely write the verse and just changed some bits. What really matters for me though is that most of the time, they did have creative input to their songs.
@Philipp199672 жыл бұрын
@@maritta2504 agreed and this is what sett them apart from other 00s girl groups like Girls Aloud, Atomic Kittens or the Saturdays who never really co-wrote their music or got involved in the writing of an album. (Let's ignore Sweet7 please)

Aside from Never Gonna Dance Again, which other tracks were Carrier over from the TIMW sessions?
@Onyx7658 ай бұрын

This lineup worked because of the combo of Heidi and Keisha being in the group. Once Keisha left, they became a fucking joke.
@MiamiVice-dc4vf7 ай бұрын
I wouldn't add Heidi to any list in particular, I feel like Keisha was the cement of the Sugababes all along as the group progressed and even when she was kicked out her soul stayed there (pretty much waiting for the replacements to end it which happened and everyone to come along and be back together). Even her background vocals were kept on the only album that had no original member and thus making every Sugababes album have that element of Keisha even when it was soulless.
