Shipping tubes are easy to acquire at the post office or office supply. They are usually 3" in diameter. Try finding anything else and you will discover that it is difficult indeed. I provide many diameters for a variety of projects and so we named them Tube-Its. Need a mold box for a bottle or sculpture? Just Tube-It! Kind of fun, kind of catchy. - Dominic

Yes, you are correct and the assumption is our oversight. In a how to make a sugar bottle mold, we do mention applying the Seal-Dit inside the entire tube. We will fix this and add an annotation. Thank you for your feedback and bringing this issue to our attention.

Thanks for these videos! I am making a film and one of the characters is a bit slow you could say, ok really slow. And in one of the scenes he eats a bottle. This really helps!

Orange was a unique color for silicone when I developed it. I think it still is. It is good for product branding purposes. - Dominic

Hi Kewne, No need to vacuum the CopyFlex. It will cure nicely on its own. Optimal room temp is around 70 degrees.

the mold is filled to the top with Isomalt sugar at about 280 F degrees when poured in the mold. If you have a vibrating unit on the base it might cause the Isomalt to spill out of the mold.

Many adhesives and even caulking will inhibit the cure of silicone. That is why I created Anchor-Dit. Hot Glue will work, but it is hard to apply and tends to clump and not be smooth. - Dominic

Because sugar is hygroscopic how is it able to (or how long is it able to) hold liquids such as wine, champing, or beer? Also as an adhesive could royal icing be used as a substitute?

I read online that because glass is made of silicon dioxide, it can fuse with the silicone if no mold release is used. How are you able to get the glass out of the mold in this case? 🤔

A sugar glass will not hold a liquid indefinitely. The liquid will dissolve the inside of the sugar glass and it will eventually leak. A sugar glass made as shown in the video will hold a liquid for about ten minutes. As far as royal icing goes, it does not have the thermal liquid properties of cooked sugar and I dont think it would work at all;=. - Dominic

OK - I have followed every step of this video but unfortunately the ONE thing you don't do (because of an assumption of knowledge, I assume), turns out to be key!!! The putting of the seal-dit inside the tube was not made clear and the reasons WHY this is needed are not revealed until the unveiling part of the video, so I only put it round the bottom. I now have to wait 5 hours to see if my mold is going to come apart. Please explain what and why so the novices have a fighting chance!
