Hello I just started the new pen last week. Last week was a complete failure it was very painful I tried it in the top of my leg I bled real bad and I released almost immediately because it was painful and the medication oozed out everywhere. I decided I would look up a tutorial to see if I could find a trick. I watched your video and I also went back to injecting in my stomach. It was 100% successful it didn't hurt, bleed, or ooze out. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video it helped me so much!! Btw I have been on bydureon for over 2 years and I have lost 40 lbs a1c went from 9.8 last year to 6.2 at the last checkup in January (yes after the holidays I was super shocked). I go every 6 months now. I don't have any side effects that I can tell. I only got a nodule a time or two and they always go away.

Thank you for all the advice and information I’m on week four but, still glad I came across your page. I lost 20 pounds in my first month, I have a high metabolism. I didn’t know about the dosage not changing. And I’m supplementing soon with something else in 2 weeks because I want to lose 80 pds. My doctor is floored actually by the results as is the weight management team I met with today.

Thank you for this video... I've been on AstraZeneca's AZ&Me program for the past few years... my doctor had prescribed Bydureon (the original pen) - we got a note from AZ last summer saying that the regular pen would no longer be available, and it was being replaced by Bydureon BCise. I took the first pen of that today... but came here to get instructions on how to use the BCise pen, and ran into this video. I'm glad I did - there were things I never knew about Bydureon, its side effects, the benefits... I learned all of that from here. (PA David, you need to bill my doctor for that!) Hope you made one for Farxiga... going hunting now for that, because Farxiga has made me really sick and I need to know if it's some kind of interaction with the other meds I'm taking...

Thank you for a great video. i take Bydureon and have for about a year now. my Dr chose Bydureon because i already have some GI issues and she didn't want to aggravate those. i started with injections in my thighs and found i had the nodules. Moved to the back of my arms. More nodules. But i loved the lack of side effects and was determined to keep trying. The thought of injecting in my stomach gave me the heebie jeebies, which is why i chose arm and legs first. (i used to give myself magnesium injections in my thigh muscles for migraines. If i could do that with the longer needle and a med that burned like heck, i knew i wouldn't have a problem with this littler needle.) i found once i started injecting in my stomach (which was a lot less scary than i thought it would be!) that i had a lot fewer nodules. Like one in ten, instead of every single time. They do heal up over time (2-3mos). i think this is because eventually your body DOES absorb all of the medication. Once it's gone, it's generally like it was never there. i say "generally" because i do have one spot on my left thigh, one of the first injections i ever did, that looks permanently bruised. It's just appearance, there is no nodule anymore and there isn't any pain. Just a change in skin coloration. Anyway, i just wanted to share my experience for you and for anyone else worried about trying Bydureon because of the possible nodule side effect. my A1c is MUCH better now. (Down 1.7pts from 7.0 to 5.3) i've lost, over the last year, about 10lbs. i'm sure i could lose more if i tried harder, i just tend to be lazy after spending all day at work, but i don't think i'd be losing ANY without Bydureon. i've tried harder before Bydureon and didn't see any weight loss no matter how carefully i portion controlled or how much i exercised. i just this past month reach my first big goal in weight loss and i've STAYED there! As far as side effects, GI issues were minimal. Any that i did have could easily be attributed to my pre-exising GI conditions and my metformin. Thanks again for your videos. i'm not poorly educated on diabetes, but i still learn something with each one.

First I’d like to tell you that I love your videos. You are so knowledgeable and thorough. I am a BYDUREON Bcise besides user. I have been using it for almost 2 years. It is very very effective for me. It has lowered my A-1 C consistently. I love this medication. However there is a major problem right now. Until recently I have never had a problem with it, but about six months ago periodically, about after every 2 or 3 injections, my injector would malfunction. It happened the same way every time: I go through all the steps meticulously and then when I pressed down to have the needle into my body, the needle would enter but the plunger would not move. In other words the liquid never flowed. Astra Zeneca has been very kind and sending me replacements. They very expensive and this is a great help. I do not want to give up Bydureon. Other medications made me very nauseous and have had other side effects. Bydureon is so good for me. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this problem? I send every injector back to Astra Zeneca for their inspection but they do not give me the result of their findings. I do everything exactly as prescribed by the instructions. The plunger that you see in the window simply does not move. When I remove the device from my skin(abdomen) liquid spews all over my abdomen and there is a obvious tiny hole where the needle went in to my skin. Obviously, the plunger goes down as soon as I remove the needle from my skin. I hope you can help me.

I get 3 months supply of Bydureon and I now have both the Bcise and the older version. The older version is so painful and it gives me anxiety every time I have to use it and I end up missing doses. With the Bcise I am more compliant because it is painless and there's no anticipation of the needle. Is there an expiration dates on those older ones? I threw away the box to fit into my refrigerator. Thank you for! Your video is very informative.

When I tried Bydureon a few years ago, it brought my a1c from the mid 8's to the low 6's due in part to the affect it had on my appetite. The only reason I stopped using it was because of the cost. The needle is larger and it does result in bleeding but I never let that stand in the way. I also lost between 10-15 lbs..

Sure. Just be sure to pack it with a cool pack to keep it from getting too hot. Since it’s only injected once per week, you don’t even really have to have it with you in the cabin if you’re concerned about the sharp needles. Having a copy of the prescription from your doctor would also help in case any questions come up during customs, although that’s unlikely.

Yeah, that can happen. If you happen to hit a small vein, it can bleed. Shouldn’t happen every time. It’s possible that the needle went through the small vein and the medicine still went into the fat where it belongs.
