I own this exact watch now too. It's every bit as good as I shows in your review. I love it. Can't believe they made a watch this good for roughly €230.- I now have my eyes on that panda dial chrono.

When I was a kid in the 80s moon phase was very much desirable perhaps stylish for the successful gentlemen. Looking back at the excesses and subsequent crash of that era leading into the early 90s I get a sense of de ja vu. Like the blue gashutte homage chrono they do.

There should be 59 positions of the moon phase because the real periodicity is 29.53 iirc so you get 29.5 which is really close to that with two moons and 59 positions per revolution. Great watch btw, I just hope the movement survives. The more complications, the more complications…

Hi, really love your content, man! No bs nor loud disco music over the talking, just straight to the point, good pictures, perfect audio levels and honest reviews. This is 10/10 KZbin content for sure! Also, I'm really astonished that there actually exists a mechanical watch with an actual moonphase function for this absolutely affordable price. It's definitely high on my list, especially since that's a function I actually have a lot of use for. I also see that you have no less than 3 San Martins, I have two on my way to me right now. They really seem like great value for the money, I've ordered the SN017 Sub homage and the 6200 1953 Sub homage, both with black dials. How do you like yours, have they stood the test of time? Would love to see some "x months/year update" as to how they keep together with use, wear and tear, etc. Noy only for the San Martins, but any watches in this price range, that's a quality factor which is impossible to state in any first review, amd I think it would make for an interesting topic. Anyway, keep up the great work, I hope every vlogger on KZbin will rip off your model of making videos. It's so nice to see videos where I'm not left with the feeling of having wasted several minutes because they wanna show off how many stupid video effects they have on their overpriced editing software to the beat to some obnoxious contemporary disco music which frankly just makes for the potential to cause an epileptic seizure to even a headless chicken. The bezel was perfectly align and super tight and smooth, and I genuinely think this clasp is on level with the one on my friends Seamaster professional. I'm really excited!

These are great looking watches and I’ve been thinking about getting one. I know it’s a sapphire crystal however , could you tell me if it’s thin or is it tough enough to take the odd knock on a doorway or wall?

when I tap on it it doesn't sound as dense as my dive watches with sapphire, but it does still feel substantial. it is domed and has some decent thickness.

Overall a wonderfull watch, if i am nit pickin i would want the 20mm lug width for a better look. I wish it had the gooseneck for coolness factor, but i don't miss it cause mine is running at like +10 sec a day so not really an issue.

That sucks I assume It winds but doesn't come to life? Try giving it a little shake and make sure the crown is pushed back in properly. If that doesn't get it going maybe try threatining to replace it with a smart watch 🤔 that should get its attention. They should honor the warranty for sure. Hope you get it sorted out ok

@@wymanscorneroftheworld8777 Yeah, maybe I'm missing something. The second hand does tick, however, it's only ticking for about 10 minutes before it stops again. It says not to wind it more than 15 times, so I'm scared to do so. I don't want to replace it, I've waited so long for this beaut, but I should've started my collection with a simpler piece. Yeah I just pulled mine out to feel the winding action for you I give it about 19 big ol winds (nice and slow) and you can feel when you get to the fully wound you meet resistancewhen the spring gets wound all the way. With automatics with the rotor they have a thing so you can't overwind but these you have to feel for it. Especially of you are winding it every morning to top it off for the day cause you wont know how much more it needs. I would say just carefully and slowly wind it till you feel that spring feel tight and don't force anything past that. Then you see it come to life. Remember using the stopwatch function will use up more of that mainspring power But if it dies after 10 min something ain't right

Also since it doesn't hack (the seconds hand still runs when you pull out crown to set time) make sure you only turn it clockwise when setting the time to avoid damage. Good luck 🙂

@@wymanscorneroftheworld8777 Great advice, I twisted it 15 which was suggested on the website, but giving it a few more turns seems to have done the trick. It's been going for almost an hour now. It's almost 9:00 pm, I winded it at around 7:45 (This is when it would stop) Then have it a few more turns at 8:00. When do you think it would be safe for me to wind again from your experience with it? Anyway, made my night, thanks!

Yo each his own, i feel overall it looks pretty balanced. Luckily it jas the outer track without thay the lack of applied indicies would make it hard to tell the time

I bought myself one of these sugess watches about a month ago, unfortunately mine has a problem with the crono funcion. When i started using it after a bit the minutes reset to 29 so everything was a minute off however as i've still tried to keep using it its now fix itself back to 30 then moved over to 1 so everything now starts on 1 minute. Is there anything i can to do make it just reset over because servicing it seems like a lot for such a simple oversites when making the watch.

Good question I have had misaligned hands on a quartz chronograph and it is possible to re align . I would assume there is a way with these mechanical movements. Make sure you are stopping the timing function before resetting and nit using the reset button to stop . That can damage it or maybe be what could throw off the hand alignment

Can you overwind this watch or does it have a protection for preventing that?

Auto winding movements with a rotor have protecrion but these manual hand wind do not. It's old school, just wind till you feel resistance starting. its easy to feel for after you have done it a few times.

The finishing on the dial look to be on par with the Orients. They just need to sort out the branding. Is it a Sea-Gull? Sugess? And where's the logo? etc

I think with as busy as the dial is they hide the text on the dial well. Just the Name Sugess there under the moonphase doesn't detract. And matching Sugess on deployant clasp and even the S on the crown. My other Sugess watch(skeletonized) only has Sugess on the buckle on the strap 😆 And yeah the texture and details on dial are wonderfully done

Unless you have like an atomic clock or something we never really have the exact time anyway. Gotta let that OCD go sometime. I usually set my watches around 5min fast so I feel like I am living in the future 🤪

Seconds hand can be stopped by winding the crown backwards a fraction of a degree but be very very careful and do not do it often.

I have had mine for quite some time and it is still working, it is not my daily wear I will admit, so I would say very unlucky I would reccomend buying from reputable seller that offeres warrantee in case you get a dud but Sugess makes nice watches

The watches are extremely nice and I bought this one and received it within a week, however I wore it daily for about 2 or 3 weeks and the chronograph minute hand broke. It started off by resetting at 29 instead of 30/0, so everything was off by a minute. Now it's done the opposite, and it's resetting to 1 minute, and it's quite upsetting. I've still worn it basically every other day or so now. The time keeping is amazing +4 seconds a day (sawnneck version) hands look really nice and everything else is super actuate just go a bit of an off one. I messages the Sugess store, and they just ignored the message, which is really annoying, but basically, 9/10 you'll get an amazing watch and for my case you'll get some errors with it... hope this helps lol

I think they all look great but the question boils down to quality. How it is in terms of quality? If people had no doubt about its quality and serviceability, they would walk away from those overcharged (scam) Swiss made watches. They literally rip off loyal customers, charging 5k for a decent watch. Disgusting.!

Why are expensive Swiss time pieces scams? Just because you don't like the price tag doesn't make it a scam. There are A LOT of people out here who gladly pay full retail x 2 or even 3 for one of these watches. Even if this Sugess had amazing quality it still wouldn't hold a flame to even a lower end watch like a Longines. You get what you pay for and there is a reason the Swiss watches are more expensive and for those who know watches.. it's worth every penny! Now, I will say I don't do business with Rolex at the moment. It does appear some sketchy and questionable practices are going on behind the scenes with the way the secondary market prices are currently going. With that said, I would still be buying Rolex if it was pre-covid pandemic and they made it possible to buy a watch from an AD at retail. However, that's now how they do it these days. Now they want you to spend about 50k on watches no one wants and can't move/sell very well. Only then will you be added to a waiting list where you might get a phone call in a few years about the watch you really wanted to begin with.
