Love that chameleon effect of that paint. Nice playing through all the styles. Very helpful in determining those tones for Suhr! 😜😁

Nice Guitar I’m a big fan of the modern innovations coupled with the classic designs like this. I have a couple of guitars built by the late great Gerard Melancon, and they are somewhat similar in many ways. Personally, I love SS Fretz, and have been a convert since I got my telecaster built by Gerard.

@@LucasHaneman the modern features on classic designs is absolutely what I’m about too. I’m not familiar with Gerard’s work, I will have to look into it!

@@BudWilson13 cool stuff! I’ve done quite a few videos on my own channel with the guitars Gerard built. I did one right after he passed away that feature the guitars and some playing that was called something like “RIP Gerard Melancon, one of the best electric guitar builders “, or something to that effect. Apparently, he was good friends with Tom Anderson, as well as John, and all those other guys who build the more famous Strat/telecaster premium takes. He just consciously kept his company very small and usually it was just him by himself or him and one assistant doing all the building/assembly. I think he only put out about four guitars per month, something like that.

The guitar is perhaps far too expensive to gig with also....tbh... Wonderful look!! I got as used set of Suhr Classic T pups and they were too bright....hard to sell...so I dropped then in different guitars....until they fell into a budget AIO Tele with mahogany body and ebony fretboard where they absolute rock on par with my CustomShop. Got a second AIO Tele, walnut/string thru.....and second set of used Suhr pups...both sound/play amazing....suitable for gigging. Cheers...

@BudWilson13 I've owned my classic T for about 3 years. Those locking saddles just didn't feel good on my right hand. The Allen head screws stick up and make it bumpy feeling. I replaced it with a Callaham bridge and compensated brass saddles, and it's sooo much better. I wish Suhr would make their own tele bridges. That Wilkinson doesn't belong on that nice of a guitar.
@BudWilson1317 күн бұрын
@ I think i may be used to the bumps by now. Haha I’ll have to look into those. Suhr should make their own bridges too. I agree.

you've convinced me. In the last week all of a sudden they've begun this AWFUL sympathetic buzz. after looking closely at them, the strings have been moving along the surface of the saddles causing multiple grooves in the top of the saddles. these are garbage now and will be replaced with proper compensated saddles as I suspected I should have done all along. great advice

@@BudWilson13 I. Love my classic T, but that whole bridge assembly had to go after a few months. If I wanted twang I'd go Glendale, if I wanted rock Callaham or Rutters. The last two have much thicker plates and will alter the tone quite a bit. But for me that was a good thing as I. Prefer the rock tone. Also I disconnected the neck pickup from the tone pot to make it a little brighter. Only the bridge pickup is connected to the tone pot. Way more useful to me.
