Wow, what an excellent story. Also, the antagonist was a complete shocker. This story was well written, thought out, and completely unpredictable. Plus, the ending was a serious shocker for me. These are what make a good and entertaining work of literature , at least, for me. Loved your story 😍, and I can't wait to here more Fromm you all in the near children.

16:05 This gave me the most weird creeping feeling up my ribcage. I've been sectioned before. A lot of it I don't remember, but I _do_ remember hearing noises in the corridors and being CERTAIN , like no doubt in my mind, that Pyramid Head was there. It's funny cos I just think he's cool, I dunno why I would be so terrified. But hearing the chains noise reminded me (of course what I heard was more like scraping, but it still really brought back that memory!)

The latest batch of stories left me a bit disappointed, and this one most of all. Too many elements, too little connections: why would Dr. Marcus leave a note with such compromising opinions (written rather arbitrarily too) out in the open? Why did the big guy kill Sophie, if the experiment on her was successful? The cat and the ghoul were rather silly plot devices and didn't make a lot of sense, especially considering that the ghost wanted to stick suicide pills down the protagonist's throat but couldn't do the same on say, Dr. Marcus. This would've probably been a more solid story if told in the perspective of Dr. Marcus himself, with a climax that saw his punishment at the hands of Sophie. Or better even, the redhead nurse could've been the true evil one behind all this - to throw in a good twist. As is... pretty weak. Overall it sounded like a bad copy of Outlast.

That's not how suicide watch works. My mother worked at Atascadero State Hospital for over 20 years (Google it) and suicide watches, or one-to-ones, as they are known there, consist of one psych tech (short for psychiatric technician - Google that too) is assigned to one suicidal patient. He or she must sit in the same room with them for their entire shift, facing the patient. They cannot turn away for even one second. My mom had to work one-to-ones on occasion.
@casadilla1119 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and full institutionalization (which rarely actually happens, especially forced- it's almost always a mutual decision with the patient) is more like a day or two of counseling in a safe environment just to settle things down well, not indefinite psych ward. Still, a really good story!
@SR-mz8nn9 жыл бұрын
I don't deny your experience and knowledge but that's not what happened to me during my suicide 72 hour watch. I had my own room. No mirror, no pencils with erasers, no shaving razors, no scissors etc I had a simple cot and I had group therapies. We got TV time and got to play in a gym. I didn't have anyone 'watch over me' other than nurses randomly checking in on me. I think practices are different by hospital but it's interesting that you know that

***** Her mind was pretty broken, so maybe she didn't know better or didn't really understand what had happened to her, and tried to help the only way she knew how. After all, if the characters were too genre-savvy, it wouldn't be a horror story. ;) I see your point, though.

So the narration was awesome as always , however the (towards the end mostly) started not making sense and went all over the place. Like the cat and all the missing nurses and all made it seem so...unreal and didn't do a good job at making sense. Even seeing the ghost. It just went all over the place. However as always, was another great listen from chilling tales to get me through the night

Ok. Gonna be the unpopular opinion here. You sound like you’re about to cry literally the whole time. Like the only emotion used the entire time was just a variation on how close the reader is to sobbing. The “I am” or “it is” etc rather than “I’m” or “It’s” feels like trying way too hard to overdramatize in a way that feels jarring. The story itself seemed ok but the way it was executing was actually distracting from the story itself.
