It was mentioned that the Kyoshi warrior's gear actually limits mobility so Suki without it can actually go toe to toe with Ty Lee. They made adjustments to their gear later on after the war and when Ty Lee joined the warriors and possibly even adapted her technique. Wished we atleast get to see Kyoshi warriors with chi-blocking abilities in LOK.

I feel like that fight during the boiling rock no one was going all out because of the risks of falling off the top of the gondola. Ty Lee has a major agility advantage, and because of the lack of space she wasn't really able to make the most of it.

I feel like Suki is a more serious and composed fighter. It's like comparing Kung Fu with Karate, one is more about the style while the other is strategically just straight to the point. Notice how Ty Lee is smiling all the time but Suki doesn't bite it, which gives her no choice but to get serious as well.

The lack of space is why ty Lee was able to make the most of her agility. Suki was stuck on the gondola and ty Lee wasn’t. Also, suki isn’t THAT much behind ty lee in agility. The scene before the gondola suki showed her crazy agility.

i think suki would clear. Ty lee is very skilled but as soon as suki adjusted to the chi blocking and understood how to counter it, ty lee lost her biggest advantage

You are ignoring the fact that ty lee also learn her fighting style, and her advantage is her agility.

@@kittyprrtt i’m not ignoring anything lmao ty lee is not shown to have adjusted her approach in any way the second time they fight, whereas suki has learned to perfectly counter her chi blocking. However, we don’t know if they even fought the first time so it would be unfair to surely say ty lee wouldn’t try a different technique.

Sukiyaki would win. Just a stronger more aggressive fighter with equal to greater skill. Ty’s agility advantage is all she has ,but Suki can close the gap and fast. Close as any fight as ever been,but Suki is pure fighter while Ty Lee is an acrobat that can fight well. Think Ryu vs Chun Li.

A fight between the two would be close as they are quite similar. However, I give the edge to Ty lee since she is even more agile, flexible and faster than Suki. There are also opponents (benders) Ty lee could defeat (elite earth benders) that Suki would either mid-high diff win or just couldn't defeat.

Ty Lee's fighting style is more suited for benders. Suki isn't a bender, she's also far more grounded and defensive which is why Ty Lee straight up got annoyed that she couldn't break her defence immediately. I agree she's likely to be more agile, but disagree on speed seeing as Suki successfully blocked every strike thrown

I’ve never seen Ty lee do anything suki can’t do in terms of agility…that was the point of the boiling rock to show what suki looks like when she’s over the bs and doesn’t have to worry about a team who isn’t anywhere on her level (the other kyoshi warriors ) her agility and flexibility is second to none she just isn’t a circus freak so she doesn’t twirl and cartwheel around everywhere but it’s pretty evident suki can do whatever she wants in terms of being elusive and acrobatic and I don’t even wanna say like Ty lee because she’s suki and could always do what she did at the boiling rock 🤷🏿‍♂️

⁠Ty lee has never fought any benders that ever mattered it’s always a sneak attack suki literally faced the fire benders head on and went 1v1 with azula showcasing that suki defense is obviously something to talk about and she’s obviously much stronger than ty lee hence how she rag dolled sokka in the cell and man handled the warden

A thing I like about this show is the emphasis on the fact that non-benders are not handicapped; when push comes to shove, non-benders can be as dangerous as benders. And if said non-benders are armed with sword and shield, benders have to work to disarm them of both cause in close range - non-benders have the advantage. - In Suki/Ty Lee - Suki has warrior training. It’s implied Ty Lee has some physical training being part of the inner circle of royalty - but it’s highly suggested this is solely because her life in the circus. Yes she managed to take team avatar and Suki by surprise a few times, but most was because of first contact and surprise; most of the other times the groups adapted - taking Ty Lee’s chi blocking into account.

I think ty Lee wins because of chi blocking. If she lands the right hit on suki, suki can’t move anymore. I believe suki could evade the chi blocking because she literally can evade benders, but eventually ty Lee will get the right hit. But it is very close. If suki gets the right hit too, ty Lee is done. I just think ty Lee has more options on what the right hit is.

Calling it an incomparable contest isn't accurate at all. The comparison gives the edge to Ty Lee for something she was never able to use against Suki. By the time she fought Suki, Ty Lee wasn't able to Chi Block her, because Suki knew the gimmick and had learned to counter effectively. Additionally, when she was captured by Azula, she first fought Azula one on one, then probably Mai and Ty Lee joined in. And the fight took place simply to allow Appa the chance to escape. This comparison is like saying one nation is stronger than another for having nuclear weapons. A nuke is a tremendously powerful item, but it can never, ever be used. It's like having a sword you can never unsheath. Shiny, but essentially useless.

Ty Lee is just one hot sexy baddie fighter. Very agile, flexible, skillful and faster than Suki, but Suki is stronger and aggressive. I think Ty Lee wins the match. No one has ever beaten her in one vs one fight.
