I find it so weird suleiman just… refused to give mustafa his and hurrem’s side of the story, or point out the irony in mustafas argument. I mean come on, he’s berating his dad for being manipulated by tears hurrem didn’t even shed, while being there, going toe to toe with a sultan, because his mom was crying. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a mahidevran hater, I pity her if nothing else, but she was blatantly lying here! Hurrem wasn’t physically threatening her. She was 100% the aggressor and let her anger get the best of her, she’s LUCKY suleiman stopped her in time, what would she have done if she struck hurrem? How would mustafa defend that?

@@miavika1074 That sums up pretty much all of Mahidevran and Hurrem’s arguments, more like Mahidevran’s attacks on Hurrem. She’d always start it then play the victim and have some of her allies or her son advocate for her and defend her. She beat Hurrem - then she lied to Valide that Hurrem said she’d get rid of them all. She insulted Hurrem in Hatice and Ibrahim’s palace and before Suleiman himself - then she acted all innocent and cried in front of Mustafa and Ibrahim to confront Suleiman from sending her away. She attacked Hurrem in her own room - then she lied to Mustafa and said the opposite… Mustafa was nothing but a fool here. He was accusing his father of what he was doing himself. He told Suleiman he was being ruled and manipulated by Hurrem’s tears yet he was there fighting his father because of his mother’s lies and tears.

No, Mustafa was wrong for defying his father directly. It was seen as a direct challenge to his father's authority!! And Hurrem was also correct in saying to Mahiderevil that if she kept on like that, she would also burn Mustafa's fingers as well!! And it did come true. Mahiderevil did eventually lead her son to his grave!! For Selim betraying his brother Bayezid, that was on Selim not Hurrem!! Selim proved from a very young age that he was and would always be a sneaky, sniveling, lazy, coward!! Who was later in life a lazy, drunkard who started the decline of the Ottoman Empire!!!! He passed that on to his children who also took a non compliant look at ruling the empire!! Like Selim, they passed the duties of running the empire to their grand veizers which was disastrous in the end!! Even though they did manage to make treaties with their enemies, they were also losing battles, and Ottoman territories and not really making much progress in expanding the empire!! Suleyman would have been whirling in his turbe at the sight of Selim and his successors making the empire Suleyman worked so hard for go right down the drain and into the Borsoporous!!!!

It is too bad Mehmet was assassinated on the orders of Mahiderevil. This is the perfect example of how Mahidevran created issues and then made herself out to be the victim to Mustafa began the rift between him and Suleiman that led to his execution. She was repeatedly warned not to cause issues between Mustafa and his father with her endless crying to him but no, she just couldn't shut up ! Sulieman never should have tolerated such behavior or insolence by Mustafa. Sulieman should have told him that if he doubts who is Sultan than he can remind him who isn't by ordering his precious mothers execution and then his if he ever dares talk to him like that again. He also should have ordered Mahidevran to him and questioned her in front of their son as to exactly what she told him that made him think it was acceptable to speak in such a disrespectful manner to his father the Sultan. He should have made it clear that this won't be tolerated by either of them .

I’ve said this before but time and time again both Mustafa and his mother were warned to be mindful that before Sulieman is a father he is a sultan. A father can privately deal with a sons insolence but a sultan could not. Ibrahim and Valide warned them both and were still ignored. Honestly at the rate they were going Suleiman was gonna kill one of them even without Hurrem manipulating. It was actually a show of favor that Sulieman didn’t have one of them killed sooner, men died for smaller acts of disrespect against the sultan before.

Hurrem never shown her weakness in front of her son and always teach them that their father is the sultan and if they disrespect him she would crush him. Also you can see Hurrem’a children bow to her kiss her hand and never ordered no matter the gender. She made a big mistake even from episode 1 when she taught Mustafa that the palace it’s his and he started to behave like is the sultan, Valide scolded her for teaching him such things and you can also see the face of Suleyman each time Mustafa behaves like this. Mahidevran should have focused to raise her Sehzade to be the best candidate, humble, never crossed the authorities, never put himself in doubt. And don’t fight with other’s a little bit like Gulfem who’s neutral and had lost the sultan favours. So she can let the other offsprings of the sultan make mistakes. That’s how Mehmed became the new heir this unfortunate child, he never upset his father. (Drama)
