Obviously, a lot of this (the vast majority of it) is dramatic fiction, but if I were Suleiman, I'd find it incredibly telling that with what Hurrem thought was her dying breaths, she begged him to protect their children from Ibrahim. Not from Mahidevran or Valide Sultana or anyone else. Ibrahim. That would do more than give me just a little pause. I mean, as far as she knows, she's willingly swallowed poison to prove her loyalty to him and instead of praying or saying "I love you" or something more typical, she begs her husband to protect their kids from his best friend. Very chilling.

Wait, so Hurrem gets blamed for Efsun's death and the death of her baby, but wasn't it Mahidevran who forced Efsun to get the abortion that killed her? How is any of Hurrem's fault? If anything, Efsun falling for Mustafa saved his life. The blood is on Mahidevran's hands. What a shock! She was always good at trying to kill children.

For everyone questioning why only Hürrem receives the blame, it's because the actions of the Valide Sultan still had the veneer of respectability over them and, on top of that, it was Hürrem, not the Valide Sultan, that Efsun accused of being a threat to Mustafa on her death bed. (I agree with all of you that Hafsa still holds blame here, though. Her showing up to comfort Mustafa over the death of a woman she'd had a part in left a truly bitter taste in my mouth.)

Had something happen at work at my first job. There was an investigation conducted and concluded before I was informed. We were told not to mingle with the visiting team during the remodel of the store. I was told what happened. Two of the young ladies likely my age had not taken the advice and had visited the hotel where the group were housed during our remodel. One of the men apparently had a family farm with horses, so sounds like she had some expectations and I do not recall about the other man. I obviously came out clean as this all was unbeknownst to me and my lifestyle is rather rigid. I was glad they waited until after the investigation to inform me that those ladies had dropped my name into inclusion.

The screen writers take creative license with some of these intrigues, never the less, the setting is historically accurate and the actors are powerful in their performances. All of this palace drama, jealously plotting against each other with rumors and worse. And look all these years later, this drama lives on in the modern day form called “ Survivor”. All this psychodrama going on while the common working class Turks and the non Turks (living in the conquered lands) are struggling to feed their families and toil for the empire.
