Rhonda, thanks so much for the short clips of this interview. When I watched the entire interview it was like trying to drink from a fire hose. These short clips allow me to digest each important issue. Again thank you for what you are doing.

Would be interesting to see how sulforaphane and NAC interact. NAC (N- acetylcysteine) also supports the body's production of glutathione - it is one of the amino acids needed, and older people often do not make enough. Glycine is a second amino acid needed, and older people also typically have reduced levels. There's an interesting recent youtube video on glutathione restoration by supplementing with NAC and glycine: look for "Glutathione Restoration Improves Hallmarks of Aging..."

I am interested to know more about the ability of sulforaphane in assisting with detoxification of heavy metals, specifically accumulated heavy metals. My understanding is that once metals have "settled" and are deeply embedded into the bone marrow, they are very difficult (and dangerous) to stir up and move. I am very interested and would be extremely grateful, Rhonda Patrick, if you can bring us more info on this subject.

Yes I’m interested in this as well. I hope this is why I’m testing positive for an autoimmune disease.

Valencia peanut butter has less mold (aflatoxin). Trader Joe's is expensive but it's worth it. Always LIGHTLY heat your broccoli sprouts and sprinkle some mustard powder on them. You will get maximum absorbsion.

Is there a difference between glutathione acquired via sulphurophane consumption and simply consuming NAC or glutathione directly.
@actuitivevisrl10143 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is more to NAC than a glutathione booster

Will sulforiphane detoxify lead from the body? My 7 year old got a letter from the school today saying they shut down the water due to high lead. He's been drinking that water for 2 years and has symptoms of lead poisoning. Any info would be appreciated.

Yes. Also, of mention are the sulfur compounds found in onions and garlic. They combine with metal that are stored in the liver and help remove them. There are many herbs that are useful. Most notably Cilantro juice and/or extract. Other useful liver detoxifiers are milk thistle extract, dandelion, and artichoke extract. If one does any detoxing, it would be helpful to be consuming something to help bind the heavy metals from the body to help flush them out. Flax seed meal, sodium alginate (a form of seaweed) and perhaps activated charcoal powder in capsule form to bind up heavy metals(at the start of the process). The lower bowels need to be moving, not sluggish or the metals will be reabsorbed into the blood stream. The flax will help a bit with that and 500-1000 mg vitamin C will keep things moving too and protect the body cells from heavy metal toxicity. The malic acid from apples (apple sauce for children?) will help with the liver. If can't find activated charcoal, get liquid chlorophyll (natures green activated carbon), or eat a healthy amount of green (from leafy vegetables) smoothies.

Find a good integrative physician. Have him tested for lead and if necessary, start chelation therapy using EDTA to get the lead out of his body.

This is terrible. DMSA will chelate lead. Please read Andy Cutlers books.

Please find a practitioner who does hair testing and find a mineral balancing program it can be dangerous to just drag out metals instead put in minerals you need and the body will eliminate the metals in its own time

Broccoli sprouts increases NRF2 by 22 x’s and has 10-100 x’s more sulforaphane than mature cruciferous vegetables!!

Most any cruciferous vegetable. i.e. cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, etc. Sometimes it is in a supplement form such as organo sulfurophane.

How much sulphoraphane, how many mgs can be given to a 26 pound , 20 month old to help with symptoms of autism?

I lost my eyebrows a few years ago and I thought it was an auto-immune disorder but ever since I started on Keto 5 years ago it's been nonstop chocolate protein powder, Atkins' shakes, sugar-free chocolate, coffee, Coke Zero, and everything is loaded with heavy metals including the weed I smoke at night. How much sulforaphane would I need to detox? Will we ever be a lead-free society? Sadly, not in my time.

Do you have practice problems on the chemistry of metals in the brain? Or could direct me where to find them? This would be very helpful for self-study and further understanding of this field
