Fantastic stuff from Tempest to grab victory from the jaws of defeat. Poor Sully loses a rare one. And Carley....oh the disappointment at the end couldn't be hidden. She was genuinely gutted to lose because people didn't trust her. I know how that feels.
@Moleoflands2 жыл бұрын
I think Tom being so secretive of his role to the one person he needed to trust cost him a lot of early cred that circumstances and early "Openness" Tempest got.
@ino_mation2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it was a case of people not trusting Carley at the end. I think it mostly had to do with there being more pointing towards Tom than Tempest. Tempest was a "failed" Amnesiac in the eyes of the other players, not too crazy, because Amnesiac doesn't always figure things out, and others have been in those shoes before. This felt way more deserved for Tempest to win with the long-con Amnesiac than the time Carley pulled Amnesiac out of her ass without any prior bluffing of it to suddenly win. Tempest also waited to nominate on the last day, while it looked like Tom had rushed into it, giving a lot of hesitation to ghosts voting. Carley also simply had the feeling of it being Tempest, without evidence. She felt his Amnesiac claim was weak, but he'd been working it the whole game, while she fully trusted that Tom was the Choirboy even though he'd never came out about it to her. You can absolutely see she was gutted to lose, but she really didn't have any information besides there being an Imp, which she said herself really wasn't good information, and it doesn't point at anybody. She simply had full trust in Tom being Choirboy even though he'd kept that from her the whole game, which is absolutely the way an evil player could bluff a Choirboy to a King b/c they know there's a King. She had no weight or evidence behind her accusations against Tempest at all.

@@SickRedApplethose two people will be so lost and won't tell anyone
@ashleywalla4087 Жыл бұрын
@@SickRedApple I think I want this pair to be Adam and Carley. Mostly cause they are both good at the game and love being evil together and would take the opportunity really seriously. And cause if I was the actual demon and knew the lunatic was Carley I would just let her run. But you also have to have the demon eventually decide when to kill her because, just statistically, she will eventually point to you in the night and you would want her dead before that so that she can't put it together that her kill didn't work cause she was the lunatic and picked the real demon cause it would most likely be the only reason she would die and the game would still be going. But you also want her around long enough that people start to build worldviews based on what she said when she thought she was evil and now it is like day 3 or 4 and the town is basically starting over.

@Clumbob2 жыл бұрын
I think Carley's read of how Tempest was sharing his information was spot on, I was thinking the same thing. It felt like he was just sharing enough information to prove that he was the Amnesiac without any actual interest in capitalizing on being the Amnesiac to try to win. That always seems like one of the easiest to spot tells of an evil player, when they are so passive about sharing their information. A real Amnesiac you would expect to be talking about what their ability COULD be, not simply reading off a list of things it wasn't.
@EdsonR132 жыл бұрын
But this was the exact reason Tom was so sus as well, noone knew his role until the exact point where he conveniently had the game solving role. Tempest at least had time to build their story and the amnesiac tends to get that benefit of the doubt because they don't know their roll, at least to start with
@Quandry12 жыл бұрын
Honestly. Take this with a grain of salt because we obviously knew Tempest's role to begin with. But Amnesiac is not a role I really care for and I wouldn't put any real interest into trying to figure it out and capitalize on it either. Which makes the way Tempest did it believable for me. Sure it's a role thta seems so epic when somebody figures out their power and uses it to solve the game. But chances of figuring out the power unless you know the Storytellers well enough to predict the type of abilities they will give is just so very low that it's just shots in the dark and I'd probably just be setting myself up to be offed immediately rather than trying to figure it out in most games (and quite likely be denied being killed off because so many value the hope of the amnesiac figuring it out). So it's not just a tell of an evil player being easy to spot. There are some of us that could be genuine and still not get invested in that role and what some feel the Amnesiac should be expected to do or talk about be damned really.
@aGoshDarnTravesty2 жыл бұрын
@@Quandry1 Since the Amnesiac relies heavily on the story teller, results may vary, but a good ST would make the ability something that could reasonably be figured out my a player who knows how to ask good questions. If the player makes really specific shots in the dark like "Does my ability tell me if my living neighbor is a minion" then they only remove one possibility out of thousands. Like playing 20 questions, or Guess Who or anything similar, each question should be chopping off about half of all the ideas you can think of. "Does my ability involve players' roles?" If yes you have a place to start narrowing, if no you've eliminated an entire category of things it could be.
@Quandry12 жыл бұрын
@@aGoshDarnTravesty even with that approach the chances are low. Though I am fully aware of it you ignore that you get an extremely limited number of questions to do it in. Having even just 4 or 5 questions to guess it is doing pretty dang good but you have to hope to even get that many usually, and if you can't get it in just 2 or 3 the info may be losing value even if you figure it out.
@nickburose82862 жыл бұрын
Whether or not you believe the amnesiac is a fun role to play, I agree that this was the main weakness of Tempest's bluff this game. He never tried to brainstorm with the town his role, and even after he claimed, he didn't ask the town for input on what he should ask despite basically being completely lost based on his previous guesses. This is very sus imo. That being said, the decisiveness to kill the king knowing that it's still tom's word against his in final 3 more than made up for his semi-flawed amne bluff.

Awesome seeing Tempest's win, he played it very well especially with Jon as such a great marionette minion. 😄 Really cool seeing Mara join the group, she had a great game and would be great to see her in future BotC games with No Rolls Barred. 😊 It was a fantastic game overall I just feel for Carley (so happy she's back ! 😊) who once again had the game figured out but no-one wanted to believe it. It's happened multiple times & I imagine it would be very frustrating as a player so hopefully she's ok after it all. 😅 Fingers crossed her words of wisdom will be heard in future games to lead good to a win. 🥺 Also it's always a pleasure to see Ben as the storyteller & Adam being a great partner-in-crime with storytelling. 😊 I really enjoy hearing their insight into the game & the many potentials that could occur. 😊

Problem is, Carly has been SO convincing in the past as a demon/minion that there will always be a suspicion when she plays - and that’s great for us viewers!
@Moleoflands2 жыл бұрын
Also, this time, she had no real evidence to persuade people away from an alternative view. She was accurate enough, but it required a lot of assumptions. I understand why it was doubted - especially as I feel Tom played his hands too close to his chest this game

Great seeing Tempest having fun because he clearly wasn’t enjoying the 15 player game. It’s always awesome seeing players give a game another shot and do a full 180.

@@eazyleezy85 yeah I love Carley but she hates losing. Especially when she told everyone Tempest was the Imp and they didn't believe her. To not be trusted can really hurt. I guess she's just too good for people to believe she's telling the truth.

@@eazyleezy85 to be fair to her, this isn't the first time she figured everything out and then basically got ignored at the end to lose. That has to be frustrating after awhile.

I have a lot of respect for how good Carley is at this game, but at the same time since she is so good, I can't help but smile when a relatively poor player like Tempest beats her and she has the gloomy facial expression at the end of the game.

Being able to bluff Amnesiac opens up so many possibilities that I really wish Tempest had had more fun with it. With this particular venue and cast of players, I would have metagamed and made up something ridiculous that Ben and Adam would believably subject someone to, instead of a generic Clocktower-style townsfolk ability. My immediate thought was night 1, tell someone you received "Undertaker". It's on the script, it sounds believable, whoever you tell can roll with that and start making guesses and spreading gossip. Maybe there's an undertaker in play. Maybe undertaker is a demon bluff. Maybe the undertaker is a marionette. Then you throw a curveball and say that night 2 you received a "Bautista" and send all the townsfolk down the rabbit hole.

I'm so glad Tempest won this one. He played super well especially considering he had no way of knowing that the choir boy was drunk, and letting Jon run wild knowing he was super unlikely to get and share game-solving info was a masterstroke. Many little pieces that he arranged just right all game to keep the heat off just long enough. I'm shocked that the other players didn't say anything about his guesses being very specific and very close to existing roles, I would have thought that the good players would have tried to help him ask better questions but they didn't. And as much as I respect Carley's logical reasoning in a lot of these games, she seemed lost in this one, and tried to pin it on Tempest based only on vibes. Those wins never feel deserved, and I'm glad the town outvoted her.

I think tempest had the benefit of not being as experienced, so his guesses being close to actual roles makes sense, as does him not finding out his actual role. I think he played really well and deserved it.

Two comment Charlie (No one likes a two comment Charlie.) here with another note: Tempest's reasoning of wanting to take the game into his own hands is extremely solid, prevents him from being screwed with later, and is just respectable. Love to see it.

I was already excited by another BOTC game, and then Adam started making Poe references, and now I'm positively giddy 😁 Poe's one of my favorite classic authors, and The Raven is one of my favorite poems. Thank you, Adam, for brightening my day even more 😍 ...now I'll continue to the actual game part of the video 😅 *EDIT* I hope Brooke felt better soon after this! But also, I appreciate her filming this despite being sick, because her brain fog is immediately making things far more interesting 😂 *EDIT* The conversation between Tom "DM-ST" Burgess and Sullivan "Bit Chaser/Cult Leader" Beau Brown is absolutely what I need more of in my life 😂 *EDIT* "You need at least 5 feet between your ball pit and your casual sex pit." Don't mind me, just taking notes...

This script would be so crazy if the minion was a baron, you get 4 outsiders 3 of which don’t know they’re outsiders. Then the imp convinces an outsider neighbor they’re the marionette, AND there’s a lunatic.

I was thinking that was a tell too, 100%. But the confusing thing for the players is he was super loud on day 1 and 2 before he knew he was evil, so he's naturally giving off conflicting tells. Also first impressions are so important the good tells (which were right at the time) probably stuck in people's minds more, as multiple goods said at the end of the game.

Right? Crazy how I didnt notice this the first time I watched these, I'm rewatching them all and for some reason this one in particular she has a real stinker of a face going on when the game ended, even after the grimoire reveal and then everyone starts laughing at the comedy bits, though she did muster a smile at the end.
