Even though the odd comment might think this is just commercial crap, I (and a lot of other Skumfuk's) enjoy this song. Sure, when the rest of the album comes out eventually, it might fall out of favor for some Skumfuk's when compared to other songs. Me personally, I find this one quite enjoyable to hear and listen to Deryck! Can't wait for the Hell single to come out!! If I can ask, how many tracks are gonna be on this album? @RockTuner Жыл бұрын
@@gkiss2030 maybe they want a break or something?
@baylaust Жыл бұрын
@@gkiss2030 Well, if it's due to inner-band conflicts, they've done a good job of keeping that hidden from the public eye. From their tours and videos, you'd never know they were planning to break up. This is speculation, but I have two theories for why they're disbanding. First, Deryck is a dad now, and it's hardly a secret that he's struggled a lot over the years with him and his mom being abandoned by his father growing up ("Never There" and "Dear Father" are explicitly about that). I'd wager that now that he's a parent, he wants to be a far more involved father to his kid(s) than he ever had... but he's also been one to put EVERYTHING into music, booking 300+ shows a year and year-long global tours. Sum 41 tours a LOT, far more than most bands in general, and I think Deryck genuinely doesn't know how to not give his all to music. So instead, he hit the kill-switch: one more album, one more big tour, then pull the plug and devote all of his energy to his family. The second theory,is a lot simpler: they just feel the time is right. Sum 41's history is full of highs and lows, ranging from a defining name of early 2000s pop-rock, to near total collapse in the early 2010s, to a SECOND golden era that few bands ever get to experience. With Heaven x Hell shaping up to be their biggest album ever, maybe they feel like just calling it there, going out at the top of their game.
@louieo.blevinsmusic4197 Жыл бұрын
@@baylaustif they tour a lot then they’re making bank as that’s how musicians make the most of their money these days. Depending your draw (whether you charge 15$-250$ per ticket or 1k+) it’s the smarter choice to tour almost daily for a whole year or more so you can have plenty of months to year(s) depending on your spending. Disbanding is still a bad idea as a yearly concert would bring in a ton of money or they could just do festivals and be gone 2-3 days a month. I’m not a huge fan but have been in bands/toured and sometimes you just out grow the music, don’t look at your band mates the same as loved ones. People think it’s all fun ‘n games but it can very much suck.
