I love your gathering; your dad is a great dad and your grandpa is a remarkable man. His words of wisdom is wholesome. Appreciate your dad, mine passed in 2021 in Guam. Yes, Dad ‘s are special and unique, there’s no on that can take their place. I like your Dad, so humble. May the Universe continue to bless all of you.

Your family embodies the true spirit of Ohana in every way. It's impressive to me that your family often gathers to spend time with another to share meals (not only on special occasions), and to go on weekend outings and/or vacations. Thank you for sharing these special moments you've captured on film. I enjoyed your special Father's Day segment and was touched by the heartfelt tribute to your Dad and listening to his memories of his own Father as well. By the way, it seemed fitting for the occasion to read your lovely (webpage) tribute in dedication to your Granddad and found it inspirational. ✨🌺✨

Thank you so much for your kind words. And thank you for checking out the blog as well. I'm new to blogging so I appreciate the feedback. Our family does generally try to get together as much as possible. I think too with grandma as the matriarch of the family, people want to be around her as much as possible. Hope you are able to do the same with your family!

Cari, my first thought is, “how can I get adopted by your amazing family?” Hee Hee! The time spent, the stories and memories shared are beautiful, and will be passed down throughout the generations. I love that the men in your family share in the cooking duties, as my daddy was an Executive chef for many years, and did the same thing. My daddy was in the internment camps during WWII, and like your ojiichan, he had to endure much prejudice. I love that your ojiichan never gave up on his dream. Your daddy is an amazing man! You can hear the love that he has for you ALL through his stories he shared. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful family and your amazing food with us! I now want shabu shabu! ☺️

Hi Mary! Thanks so much for the comment. Wow, that's amazing that your dad lived in the internment camps. Must be a very interesting story and childhood experience. That must be where their strength came from...especially being first or second generation. Again, thanks for all the support with my videos! I really appreciate it.

My mom and my brothers were also in the internment camps--first in CA, Arkansas, CO and my mom's first husband served in the 442nd Regimental combat team fighting for the US. He was killed in action in Italy. Your video was inspiring with its emphasis on family, sharing food and fun. I loved hearing your dad's comments and experience of what being a parent means to him. Thanks for this video!
