Exceptional video as usual! You giving the person the $100.00 for them was why I watch your videos and follow you. Not enough folks like y’all in the world. Let us know about Sheldon’s new bff wiggles, hopefully the leg will heal properly.
@The10AcreWoods6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, wiggles had her x-ray today and the knee is broken. The vet tells us there is nothing they can do for her and she will probably develop arthritis in that knee when she gets older. The people that took her from the farm 6 weeks ago let it heal on its own without vet care and might have been prevented, not sure. They are both doing good though. 🐖
@northgeorgiasanctuary26266 жыл бұрын
The 10 Acre Woods Not sure why people don’t take their animals to the vet. I bet they take their kids to the doctor. Well, maybe not...maybe she will not be too bad off when she gets older.

Those rats look pretty young. Dog food is really not a good diet to keep rats on. It's best to avoid altogether if possible, although in small amounts it's alright. It's okay when supplemented with fresh fruits, veggies, and grains like oatmeal and rice, but dog foods tend to be too high in fats and proteins for rats. While the balance of the components of dog food may be perfect for a carnivore like a dog, rats are omnivores that need seeds and fresh food. I give my girls these things called "lab blocks" which are large, hard pellets that have a better-balanced diet for a rat that are also hard enough to give them something hard to grind their teeth on (along with a basic seed mix from the pet store). I also nightly chop up fruits and leftover veggies, chicken, and rice from dinner for them, and in the morning I give them little bits of my egg and oatmeal. (My girls love love love green peas!) Red meats and things that are salty, high in vitamin c (like citrus), or high in fats and oils should be given sparingly if at all, as they can cause internal issues as well as things like greasy coats. Rats are also super prone to cancer, so that's a thing to keep in mind. If I can't figure out if something is okay for my ratties, a quick google search is always very helpful as there are many rat blogs and forums. (Some of the tabs still open on my phone include questions like if arugula, onions, and peppers are okay for rats hahaha) I love how much you care for your animals!! Best of luck to you and your lovely two ratties!! Those girls are so lucky to have been rescued by a dedicated animal lover like you. The rat community (and I) are here for any questions or worries you come across
@The10AcreWoods6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment Ella. We had rats for over 15 years with no issues feeding them a chicken based dog food with of course fruit, vegetables and grains but that was at a time when you could not Google like now. Our two girls were not with us long as a young family fell in love with them and adopted them. I was a little sad to see them go but I know that they will be well taken care of in their new home. Thank you again for your information, it's great to hear from others about animal nutrition. 👍

If we have a rooster that attacks our legs we pick him up by his feet till he is relaxed then keep holding him for about a minute then put him down. This shows that you are dominant and you win the battle 😉. They will still test you from time to time 😁
