I'd have to say you by far have the BEST curly Natural hair tutorials. I can identify with you; starting from scratch = not a good time but i am enjoying my journey and the tips and tricks you share are VERY helpful in avoiding certain frustrations, headaches and confusion that comes with the Curly Do. Thanks! Much love.

I know you probably get compliments all the time about your hair, but it really is gorgeous. For so long I was back and forth, back and forth about really going natural. My hair is naturally curly, and even when I relaxed my hair I could wash it and it would go right back to its curly state. Then one day, I asked myself "why" and having relaxed hair just didnt make sense to me anymore. I always got compliments on my culry hair but I had to make to choice to love it too!! You are inspiring!!

Hey Whitney! WOW, Great video, FABULOUS results! I know I watched this before but that was at the beginning of my hair journey, I was about 4 months in and I wasn't "thumb uping" any videos yet, so I'm making the rounds with a "THUMBS UP" and a "WOOT WOOT" this time!

My parents have been relaxing my hair since I was 5 because my hair was so unmanageable. Then my friends got me into texturizers O_O. Been natural for about 10 months, with lots of breakage and all and these are the only videos keeping me from wanting to go back to chemicals. Thanks so much!

Naptural, you make natural hair look EASY!! Thank you. I was really getting aggravated and discouraged with my hair...I had the BC last November. My husband is super supportive & loves my hair, I think I hit a rough patch tho. Please keep posting videos. You kept me from seriously considering going back to relaxers!! THANKS!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! Oh my gosh, I just love your tutorials Naptural85. My daughter has very thick hair and she thinks that it is too much hair, (she's 8 soon to be 9). She complains about how long it takes to do etc, but I show her your hair and explain that when she's older she'll be able to do the styles that you do and that having a lot of natural hair is a good thing - a blessing and so so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Guuuuurl you are changing my life! I'm currently transitioning and you have given me so many creative ideas for how to style my natural hair! I'm only a few months in so it's too soon to be certain of my curl type but it's beginning to look a lot like yours. I've been relaxing my hair for years so I was feeling a bit like a lost puppy, but then I stumbled across your videos and I'm already feeling so confident and excited to go natural! I can't thank you enough ;D

When i saw you undo your bantu knot I was soooooooooooo inspired. All i hear from my older sisters when we go out is... "The tumbleweed is on the move!" (Mind you that they are both natural but have looser curls than me and hide under bags of weave...) Now i see more and more hairstyles that i can do instead of the average twist and braid out. Looking forward to testing this one out!

She makes her own Flaxseed gel. You can buy Flaxseeds from Whole food or a grocery similar to Whole Food, like a natural or organic grocery store. To make the gel, you basically just boil the flaxseed until it releases a gel like substance. Naptural85 has a video about how she does it but if that isn't up anymore there's tons of tutorials on KZbin! Hope this helps!!

You could also check the product on your hand and make sure they're all gone before applying to your hair. Just squish the lil pieces until they melt. I've used her recipe for a long time and never have a problem with the lil pieces in my hair, but that because I would find em before I put the product in my hair. Now I make it differently and I don't have any lil tiny pieces to squish anymore. I hope you find this helpful. :)

(Continued) tangled and frizzy. that means your hair isn't well moisturized so maybe look into some products that will maintain moisture and provide some hold so you can have smooth curls once your hair is dry and you won't frizz up and end up with a fro instead of a curly fro. Also, make sure while your hair is drying, you don't keep messing with it too much because that'll also contribute to the problem. Hope I helped some :)

@LatteCafe82 I believe she does Bantu knots in order to keep her hair detangled and out of the way...it's also easier since her hair is already in parts...she can just separate and twist

that's the purpose stretching serves. adds length and volume. my little sister has 4a hair and I, 3c that is naturally hanging compared to hers that "just sticks straight out" without any stretching. we both do bantu knots and her sets always come out better than mine since it dries faster! practice makes perfect.

I must sat that's what kept me away the natural hair but moisture was the key. i went from thinking my hair was a nappy mess, to a bald head to what i have now. i now have the same exact texture as she does in the vid and for me it was def cowashing and glycerin that made the difference. I love my curly fro now and people always say how moisturized it is, even if i haven't washed it in days :-)

Residue like a film on top of the hair shaft or little tiny flakes? I ask bc shea butter, when melted too much can get gritty and I think that may be what you're experiencing (depends on how you make it). That grit doesn't melt before you put it in your hair. The easiest way to solve that is to use a double boiler and only get the shea butter soft before mixing or not using a double boiler at all. If you didn't add any heat to melt your shea, then its most likely the quality of your butter.

no, doesn't take 2 days. It's just that it's better to handle your hair as little as possible. So, bantu knots are a style and pin curls with or without a scarf are a style so why not wear it that way for a day or two then take them a loose for another style. But, no, you could go under a dryer or blow dry a little a wait a few hours but less stress and less heat is best for growing out and retaining hair. So there are options. hope that helped
