I’m moving to my new home next week, which has a decent lawn. Right now there’s a lot of crabgrass growing in the Bermuda sod, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. However, it will be fun to start over from scratch. Thanks for all of your content, Doc! You have inspired me to take the next step in yard maintenance by feeding (organic) and weeding the lawn on my own.

I do about 2 heavy waterings a week @ about a 1/2 inch put down each time. I've followed Doc's advice about mowing height and have my common Bermuda @ about an 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches. I have not yet put a fungicide down because It gets so hot here everyday that I don't have to worry about fungus with the way things dry out. Also, as a result of cutting about every 2 to 3 days and keeping it short I have encouraged the Bermuda to start overtaking and out-competing the Dallisgrass spots I have. Cultural practices matter!! Great videos! They have helped enormously!!

Since it got hot this year (Alabama), I put out fungicide and set my irrigation to a daily 4 minute cycle right before the heat of the day starting at 12:45 and zero irrigation on cloudy/rainy days. It’s literally only enough the keep the blades cool until evening. Weekly dose of Super Juice and monthly application of PGF Complete. The bermuda grass is absolutely rocking. The rain pattern is really the only substantial source of water (which has been abundant so far this year) and I’m hoping the grass is relying on that water from the soil. I started with a really bad situation this year and now it’s a ⭐️

Doc, I hope you're healing quickly! I have been enjoying and learning so much with your videos. I don't have an irrigation system here in King George, VA near the Potomac River and my grass is Zoysia grass which is struggling in our sandy soil so I really appreciate you summer heat videos. - It seems like everything you say about your type of grass and mine should apply, is that true? Especially as it relates to: 7-1-2 ratio; Humic Acid & Seaweed Kelp? - Having watched several of your videos from last year and also the most recent, am I to understand the evolution is now simplifying things to the point of using only the new "PGF Complete" pellets and then with the "Super Juice" liquid mix fairly regularly like every week or two? I also love the simplicity of just adding my other liquid type stuff (Pre & Post emerge weed, ants, grubs and such) at the same time! - I am intrigued by the Andersons Humic DG … Is that something I should add due to my sandy soil? By the way, I am trying to get better at sprinkling the lawn in early mornings and late evenings before and after work. Maybe next year we will have the funds for an irrigation system. Thanks again for the great videos including the other yard work like the driveway power washing with the Karcher pressure washing attachment which just arrived.
