Dr Grande missed a very important point in Don’s history, he SA’d his step sister when she was 5 until 12 when Don went to prison at age 17. Immediately upon his return from prison, he went to the step sisters room to abuse her. There is extensive SA history on the mother’s side as well. Summer didn’t stand a chance in this environment.

So let me get this straight... Your daughter goes "missing" in the middle of the afternoon in "only two minutes of not being supervised" but you let your OTHER three children then go roam around on the property for three hours looking for their sister where there are bears and other wildlife which the MOTHER is afraid of? Then you state to the media that you "both knew it was an abduction immediately." But you still let your three other children go out on said property where there could have been this said abductor waiting to grab them also potentially? I'm just checking to make sure I have this straight. Good Grief.

I'm legit lost on this case. I do think it's far more likely than Dr. Grande believes that her parents or another family member killed her or she died accidentally and they covered it up. I think Dr. Grande doesn't fully realize just how well rural Americans can keep a big secret, with several people knowing and nobody telling the police. Dr. Grande is right in that these people don't exactly seem like criminal masterminds who could disappear their daughter and all evidence this well. I lean more towards someone targeting the girl for some reason. I don't think it likely she wandered into the wilderness and died, but I think it's more likely than Dr. Grande suggests. The fact that she's "never done that before" seems like poor logic considering if she did it before she would have likely gotten lost and died before.

I was raised in rural Tennessee. I'm not going to say kids never get lost in the woods, I'm sure its happened, but most have a deserved, healthy fear of the woods. The rest have been raised trekking the hills and hollers, and know not to go far without necessities and know how to get home. Don and Candus said themselves, people dumped poor dogs off all the time. Which sadly, happens too often in rural areas. These dogs barked when anyone came in the yard. Unless someone very familiar to the dogs was slinking around in the woods, waiting for the right moment to take her, the whole neighborhood would have known a stranger was there. I don't know if the parents were part of it or not, but I believe thats exactly what happened. Someone very close to the family took her. Someone who knew those hills.

I grew up in a similar location in Mississippi. Our parents could not have made us wear shoes. I mean, if they'd tried, we'd have taken them off as soon as we were out of sight. There were anywhere from 3 to 10 of us children at any given time, and we knew to look out for each other. But I was the mostly likely to wander off into the woods alone. The times that we ran into trouble out in the woods we would never tell the adults about it. 🤣 My mother is phobic of snakes, so we only brought them home a couple of times. We never saw any mammals. We were probably too noisy. This was decades ago, of course. I only mean to explain why I think it's quite possible she would have gone for a walk in the woods. I don't find it as far fetched as others seem to. I also thought it was weird that she told her brothers she wanted to go downstairs to play. Did she normally announce her plans like that? I would be shocked if the big brothers didn't know every nook and cranny of that property. (They may not, but based on my experience, it would be shocking.) If she grew up out there, there was going to be a day that was the first time she ventured into the woods alone. Maybe it was that day. However, based on the parents being convinced that she's dead, they most likely know she's dead.

@carebearboo42473 жыл бұрын
I think the answers lie right there. Summer was getting to the age of being able to maybe tell a trusted adult (Robin maybe?) and maybe he freaked out in a drunken rage and hurt her. It’s not going to be something outlandish like a selling or abduction. The answer is within the family. Perhaps Grandus and Candus don’t want to fess up because there would be evidence of prior SA and they don’t want to get into trouble for not reporting. The boys were probably terrified of their dad. If you heard in that call with Chris M, the parents show their true colors in that. They’re screaming and hollering, using the F bomb. His religious side is truly just a facade to distract the public from his real evilness. I really think those kids were around a lot of bad behaviors from the adults in their lives. It breaks my heart to think what all they’ve seen.

One red flag recently was hearing Don talking to Chris of The Interview Room - before Don phoned Chris and threatened to slander his name everywhere - and Don told a tale of some woman phoning him and talking of him stroking Summer's hair and one wonders if that was behind Candus cutting it off. The fact Summer was 5 which is exactly the same age as Don's step sister was when he began to abuse her is likely not a coincidence,

@reneet58583 жыл бұрын
@UC7qpxKUYZ73jnFfCFvXwBSA You are very lucky if your kids made it all the way through school without ever contracting them. I live in a rural, poverty ridden area, and I can remember being angry at parents who put no effort into eradicating these little nasties from their homes. On the other hand, you had a lot of parents like me, who constantly checked, and fought returning cases. Not only was it gross, but it got really tedious and expensive, after a while. My girls all had long hair, and between going through their heads constantly, and if they even had one bug, or some eggs, I would completely tear apart their rooms, to make sure they hadn't carried them in there. We finally had enough, one year, and demanded the schools be more proactive. Well, seems ALL the kids coats and jackets were hung in one big closet in the classrooms. SO, as soon as summer break hit, they went in, treated the whole school for infestation, and installed separate lockers in each classroom. The head lice cases dropped dramatically. It also helped to isolate WHO was being sent home, and shampoo'd without treating their bedrooms, or other furniture, etc., only to return and 2 weeks later or sooner, there would be another outbreak. I have not had any connection with the prison or jail systems, but I do know that while working ER, we had people transported from our local jail to be treated for various things. I can't remember one case of lice. However, our Sheriff's Dept. is known for inmates saying that the food, daily showers, and clean clothes & bedding, plus the way they are treated ( not pampered) with respect any normal human being deserves, is so much better than most places, that it actually is " known", and the "preferred " place to be locked up. We do have a pretty awesome Sheriff's Dept. Sadly, the worst cases of lice I've seen while working ER have been from elderly, or/and disabled people who become "hermits" , rejecting any form of assistance with house cleaning, bathing, and that type of thing and isolating themselves until someone ( usually a neighbor) calls 911 to get help, and many times they are too ill to be helped, however we did our best to make them comfortable in their last days. Consequently, although I've never had head lice myself, I have had to take devouring showers at the hospital before going home.

1. Summer has been video taped playing outside barefoot- gravel road. No pavement, rough terrain . It would not have been an issue. 2. Dogs. They have lots of dogs. If a stranger came around, they would be barking and threatening. 3. This eliminates a stranger abduction option. 4. Another option- Someone she knew was parked on the property and had her come with them. Friend abduction. 5. Or...Listen to the interview with the 15 year old boy. At the end he talks about looking at texts on Candace’s new cell phone (her original one was taken by police). Maybe she was sold. 6. Or... Accident and cover up. 7. Or... Dad came up as part of the big plan to traffick her. The parents planned the whole scenario. Boys busy on screens, grandma would be busy, and Candice most likely sent Summer to have a nap in the basement. Dad would approach and so the dogs would not bark. He enters the basement, so Summer goes willingly with Daddy. Interestingly Candice said the basement door was locked, while Don recounted the story to media in first few days, and says the basement door was unlocked. He takes his daughter to make a planned exchange off site, to traffick this girl. Candice is Dons puppet, and Don dos not value girls, and only sees them as objects.

I have followed this case and find it fascinating. I believe that Summer went into the basement where her bedroom was located and from there went into the yard to swing, which her parents have said was a common occurrence. I believe she saw a fawn (common in June) or perhaps a bunny and ran off into the woods to follow it. The parents have said she was not in the habit of wandering but I know that 5-year-olds can be easily distracted particularly by animals. From the photos, I have seen those woods were very dense in June, and the terrain was exceptionally rugged and steep. I believe she could easily have gotten lost, people have said there are a lot of different trails in those woods and she could have gotten lost quite quickly. People tend to believe if they are on a trail it will lead somewhere but it could easily have led in the wrong direction. It would have become dark within a few hours and a child would naturally have curled up to stay warm and to fight off the mosquitos. I think she could have been injured and succumbed to a wild animal - there are apparently bear and other predators in the area. I know the woods were reportedly searched thoroughly but I think, given the denseness of the undergrowth, it would have been easy to miss a few scattered small bones on the forest floor. What does bother me is that she is the second person in her family to go missing and that is statistically bizarre, to say the least.

The car coasted backwards down the street, making a few turns before finally backing into wall around a random house. Basically, kids can do anything, they can get into any kind of trouble when you're not looking. There's no way to know here, until some hard evidence comes into view.

I’m not sure if you’ve already done it, but I’d LOVE an in-depth analysis about why polygraphs suck! They are still used all the time and I don’t get it if they’re so bad! I’d love an explanation.
@holocene21643 жыл бұрын
There are great articles on the subject. Google "Why polygraphs are pseudoscience" and you'll have the best explanation. And I don't mean that to be disrespectful. I think reading the articles is the best way to understand it but if I summarize it, it's not that what they measure isn't correct (pulse, respiratory rate and sweat rate); that's just data. The problem lies with the interpretation of that data. It's essentially as statistically significant as flipping a coin, meaning that it's not much better than chance. No one is really able to detect deception better than chance and the polygraph is more of a "placebo effect kind of tool" that law enforcement are using to justify their suspicions. But it's not reliable. Many (later) convicted killers passed their polygraphs with flying colors, for example...
@mysteryjunkie98083 жыл бұрын
Yeah never submit to a polygraph test for police. If you fail they’ll say you are guilty if you pass they’ll say it’s inconclusive. But since police are allowed to lie to others
@Adara0073 жыл бұрын
They're still used primarily to try to coerce and intimidate people into confessing to various matters. The fact they are unreliable is not something the police who like to use them are going to tell you.

I snorted my coffee when you said that LE can’t seem to find the OFF switch on their electronics and maybe they should spend less time on you tube and more time finding evidence. I think Summer was the victim of an accident, or possibly an abusive act, and Candus and grandus were too busy drinking and/or drugging to do anything about it. It’s possible the boys got rough with her and pushed her down those “stairs.” One of the boys was caught on tape saying, “It wasn’t my fault!” Also, the boys were to be taken the day after the disappearance, but it was postponed due to the disappearance of summer. What are the possibilities that this is all staged to keep summer out of the hands of CPS and she is actually safe somewhere out of sight? Back to the accident or abuse theory,, Candus is quite the drinker/doper. Kids aren’t taken from parents for no reason. I can picture her whacking summer to the point she stumbles or even goes flailing down those steps. Her timeline story makes no sense; my theories fit the situation better. I’m going with accident/abuse covered up by this wild abduction theory. I just don’t know how they hid her body so carefully that it hasn’t yet been found. Btw, Candus’ timeline cannot be believed, so there was plenty of time to hide the body (because no way was C planting flowers, putting away groceries, doing laundry, or taking a walk. If she was taking a walk, it was to dispose of the body).
@blakesims73402 жыл бұрын
I agree I think she fell down the basement stairs she went around the basement door hid her somewhere and then came back and called her name and said she magically disappeared it doesn’t make sense why someone would come onto their property in broad day light and if they did the person was very close to the family and the hiding her body part I think maybe don was either down in the basement or Candace gave her to him down that trail and then once he had taken her Candace called him to make sure everything was good then called the police

It's just strange! I agree with this theory of summer being abused,maybe even sexually. They said there was inappropriate activity showing on the tv in the basement? The mother of summer apparently has a low IQ and appears to be a drug user,considering her stare and expression. Her eyes seem to suggest that there is no one home. I believe the child was killed and they disposed of her body. Some parents in those drug induced lifestyles sell their kids for drugs! Just saying! This whole abduction theory stinks!

The Well's boys were not scheduled to be taken. Removals are not scheduled & would never be postponed. The boys were removed 6 weeks after the disappearance of Summer. Noone knows why, bc CPS never releases this kind of information, ever.

Gentle as a Totally disagree with you. Additionally to possibly being barefooted, Summer (a 5 year old) does NOT have history of navigating that terrain. To get that far from home on her own and that quickly, whether barefoot or not, is extremely improbable!!!

Its been said she always looked dirty. I didn't notice that myself. A few pictures yea. Her hair was messy a bit. One of my girls always had messy hair for a time..she was older than Summer too. They certainly live a different life than what I'm accustomed to seeing. If it weren't for the drug use, alcohol, arrests, etc.etc. people might not have scrutinized every detail so much.
