I'm an ex gymnast, used to have my press handstand and I'm trying to get it back. This is one of the best videos I've seen yet!

Same! It's been about a year since I quit gymnastics and I feel so weak and unflexible :(
@daniellegawrysiak13 күн бұрын
@Angry_Echoes_Beware This is so relatable. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do instead to stay fit. I ended up becoming a runner and doing jrotc raiders in highschool (it's basically a team obstacle course, super fun!). And I heavily considered aerial acrobatics (lyra hoop, silks, straps, etc.) Just find another way to stay fit that you actually enjoy! Regaining flexibility/strength is way easier than starting from scratch

Hey, Summer. I want to thank you, send my love to you!! One year ago, I wanted to learn how to do a pull up, so, I searched on youtube and found all kinds of programs, but non of them worked. I stopped trying and then got back. Even though I tried dozens of programs, I could not perform a pull up. Half a year later, I discovered your channel. You are so inspiring! I started working out again and a couple of months later I succeeded doing a pull up!! Now I can do three pullups. You helped me during my own journey, you are the reason that lead me to success. I am thanking you so much! It means a lot to me, thank you thank you thank you❤ I wish everybody knew about this channel.

Watching from Calgary. I can do headstands and forearm headstands, but now I'm working toward a handstand. I'm studying your routine to perfect my handstand. I want to strengthen my upper body to be able for push myself from a Headstand into an Handstand. I have practiced yoga for many years on and off over the past 12 years. I love Zumba class as well, I took about a dozen zumba classes earlier this spring but because my job is quite physical I have been away from it until taking another zumba class last week. Next zumba class is tomorrow. Thanks for the advise Summer.

thank you for sharing everything in this video and that you say handstand (10sec hold) took u 13 months by practising 5 days a week. nowadays people think every move u can get in only 5 min or 2 weeks when u scroll social media. thats so sad bc at one point it will get harder and you might see no improvements, so people may give up quickly, because they dont realize some moves can take MONTHS and not only a short amount of time :/

7:45 I think it's better to focus shifting where you have pressure in your hands. More pressure in your fingertips to come down w/ your legs and more the heel of your palms to go up. Improving the control in your fingertips will lead to more forward/back balance control when in the handstand.

3 exercises i could recommend for the press handstand that will give you indirectly it. Plache tuck planche progressions even if the full planche is not your goal due to the forward lean angle strength. L sit due to the compression strength flexibility it builds up too besides core compression hip flexor strength. Tuck handstand for the elevation strength

Awesome channel! Just found you through the interview on Fitness Faq's channel. By the way, I got a question. I know that we need to have an posterior pelvic tilt to raise our legs on the press, but when it comes to the top part of the press (6:30) it seems we need to have a little arch on the back to align the hips with the shoulders, which seems to require an anterior pelvic tilt. Am I right? Should we have an anterior pelvic tilt at the top? Thanks! 🤸♂️
