Probably the best handstand prep on youtube. I'm only able to do half of this class, and just realized my problem is that I'm unable to get hips over shoulders. I can easily do it easily for headstand, and handstand with my head supported on two blocks (I know, sounds crazy), but not without props. Any advice?
@NatashaFitnessYogaPilatesАй бұрын
@@vickyd7541 is it right hamstrings that is holding you back? Like Is it because you can’t fold deep enough to get the hips up?
@vickyd7541Ай бұрын
@@NatashaFitnessYogaPilates I don't think it's my hamstrings (I can do Pachimottanasana and splits etc.). More like hip flexor strength, which I;m working on, but even more the balance issue, i.e. fear of falling backward when my wrists are in deep extension and therefore not the strongest position. (? maybe?). This also shows in my fear of practising the "bunny hops", even with a wall behind me I can never jump high enough to get my hips over the shoulders. Not sure how to overcome this fear - I've been trying for many years. Just wondering if ever encountered a similar problem with yourself or some students.
@NatashaFitnessYogaPilatesАй бұрын
@ I would focus on arm balances and handstand jumps for strength and eliminating fear. Also, you can do hip flexor exercises. Can you work on pincha press?

Will this be possible without ever bending the back?🥺 Have an operated back so can't bend it
@NatashaFitnessYogaPilates9 ай бұрын
Bending as in a forward fold? You have to be able to have the hands to the ground to be able to press into a handstand. You can learn handstand however, but not pressing into it. You can jump into the handstand from a crouched position to avoid the folding.
