I miss living in the tropics because of all the greenery. If I were ever to move back to Borneo from Scotland I would definitely build a tiny house for myself and have a massive backyard like this. My parents would make a fuss over the non-foodcrop plants but they wouldn't mind the variegated mangosteen and durian. That waterfall would definitely be a good project for my dad. He's a farmer through and through but was an engineer to fund his passion. I don't know if my husband could handle all the sun and humidity though.

WOW! world glass garden and collection. years ago when we would find anything variegated it was a big deal. we would search through propagation houses or old off the beaten path nursery's looking for the unusual or rare. i remember how excited i was when i found 3 variegated vietchia palm seedlings . by the time i left one was about 10 foot high. friends dug them out before i moved. we did have quite a few examples of variegated raphis palms back then to. the varigated scadoxus was awesome. i still have two huge pots full that are doing really well here in the mountains of north georgia. i bring the pots into the basement during winter and let then go dormant. i put them out again in spring and get a huge explosion of red firecracker blooms. thanks to Home for letting us tromp through is garden.....we want to see more!

That variegated Ctenanthe/ Marantaceae was my favorite, but also the Thaumatophyllum ‘Variegata’ That was quite the waterfall... I wish you had shown that a little more. What else was amazing is it still looked natural, his little variegated jungle nook. This was so inspiring!! I need to move to a more tropical location.

Loved that video so much! Had no idea orchids verigated, or at least had never seen one! The collection its self is lovely and inspiring! Love the positive message too about repopulating species! 😁 My lovely partner also wanted to say a thank you and was exited to see the bromeliads that verigated too! I was also shocked to see the large palms! That was amazing never seen anything like it either! I’ve started learning more about the natives of Australia and if you ever have the time to learn about the “Australian Christmas tree” (Nuytsia) I’d highly recommend it. Driven past a few before and had no idea how complex they were!

Summer Rayne Oakes I honestly can’t say if it has spread to Africa (I haven’t been back since I was young), from my research it’s only endemic to Western Australia. Although I have found a lot common flowers and plants over here (classified as weeds) are endemic to Australia and parts of Africa. I did think you may like the “Australian Christmas tree” due to the fact you mentioned that parasitic plants catch your interest 🙂

I love when people with all their knowledge admit when they just don't know. If he wasn't sure, he would just say so. I'd love to know what his routine matinence is for watering (I guess an irrigation set up) and keeping pests away.

My favorite is variegated Athurium! If that plant land in Indonesia that must be really expensive. I have ever had one variegeted Sansevieria, but dead. He has really a lot variegated plant, he is super rich. He is crazly passionate with plant. Super awesome!!!!
