My two favorite matches on this card were X-Pac vs Jarrett and the Lion's Den match between Owen and Shammy. I liked the ladder match but, too much gaga at the end for me. The thing I remember most about the ppv is the crowd being super hot and into everything . Even Method Man was in the crowd rocking his DX merch looking like he having fun with his kids

1:45:20 I agree with JR. I rewatched every Raw from 98 and 99 and there were way too many DQ finishes and outside interference on a weekly basis back then. It's lazy booking imo.

There were still a lot of dq finishes between 1996-97 but they weren't as comon and they had more meaning to them.

From what I've been seeing 101k was the announced attendance 80k is actual tix sold, but apparently the number falls between 75k-85k or thereabouts which I find interesting,so I guess the 80k is the middle number that was settled on for paid attendance 🤷🏼♂️

The amount of discussion for the actual show is very disappointing. Half the card is basically conrad skipping over it. Lions Den- hope they got a good pay day and how amazing aew is for using owens name. So much more that couls have been duscussed here. Ladder match and Main event- brief chat like they both just wanted to finish the show now. Rest of the card- just skipped past.
@mightyknight Жыл бұрын
Conrad mentioned that he will not do any favours to the show if he goes in depth about it. That's why he also mentioned that we should watch that PPV as a whole.
@adrianriley753 Жыл бұрын
@@mightyknight then why bother doing it as a topic if you're not really going to discuss the show properly? Let's chat about Aew for ages and summerslam 98 for 20 mins. Poor

WCW didn’t know how to move forward from the NWO storyline, they kept it going too long, and Eric Bishoff had his nose to far up Hogan’s ass that’s what ultimately killed the company. Nobody wanted to see Hogan anymore because he was slow and he was past this prime I don’t care how popular he was in the 80s because this was the late 90s and he was old and boring. I was never a fan of Hogan he was too cliché, and his matches were never exciting WCW could’ve easily beat the WWF in the ratings war in 98 but they relied too much on the same things Eric Bischoff was stuck in 1996

@Falconesports2025 Жыл бұрын
This is gonna be an instant classic like the ppv itself, the whole card had good energy…. We saw one of the best Rock vs HHH matches the best for the ic title imo in a great and underrated ladder match and the main event between Austin and Taker was great straight up 1 on 1 action between the top 2 at the time. At one point in that match taker goes to back body drop Austin but stonecold kicks taker In the chest as he’s doubled over and he rises up from the kick catching Austin right on the chin with an inadvertent headbutt that dropped Austin for a second. A Madison square garden event for the ages right up there with the greatest fights, matches, shows etc. the garden ever saw. As Vince Sr. Would say.. “The Garden’s the Garden.” 🏟️
