Wow!! Really glad I watched this! I'm putting my 427 in my 1956 Chevy, so it requires a special pan to clear the steering arm.

That might explain why you needed to add an extra quart of oil on the dyno, smaller pan, not enough oil capacity.

@Anarchy-Is-Liberty Its a 6qt pan and I had about 6.5 qts in it but apparently thats not enough. Glad to have found that out on the dyno so now I know.

You didn't account for the oil filter holding a half quart of oil.

@keithwilcoxsr8103 Thats a good call. When I adjust the dipstick, I'll make sure to fill the filter first, then the pan. Thanks.
