Hey great video, couple suggestions though, I’ve been using a summit for 25 years, take that cinch strap and when you at your height put it through the top of stand and around tree, you will never have the top slip loose. Also, climbing is much easier if you sit on the cross bar instead of using your forearms. Have a great season guys.

Hundreds of videos of this out there on “how to” and yet no one gets it right. I watched the DVD that came with mine in 2005 and learned all I needed.

Nice video, couple things to suggest: the summit viper is a stand up sit down style climber... you can sit on the front bar and raise your legs lifting the bottom. Once you reach your desired height, use the cinch strap to secure the top V bar to the tree and it will not fall or move. Then tighten up the connecting strap from the bottom platform to the top. Your stand will not move. For even more rigidity you can purchase stabilizer straps from Third Hand Archery. When going down, readjust the connecting strap and remove the cinch strap. When packing it up use the cinch strap over just the "arm rest" and similar arched portion of the bottom and across to the otherside and it will stay together and provide a platform to place your back pack. Then just a shoe string length of string will secure the top of your pack to the climber and the black foot strap will cross over holding it all together!

Just some things i do to make it quiet and easier to climb. Once they are nested, run the cinch strap around the arm rest and lower's riser and wrap it around each side once, and then cinch it. It really locks them together and its plenty long enough. I also use a 24 inch bungee cord to secure the seat out of the way as i climb so they dont get in the way of your knees as you bring up your legs. Also sit on the front of the top section and it will push those blades into the tree and stop that slipping. Be safe everyone, and enjoy your hunting.

I seen that when you went to sit down. The chair part of the tree climber stand slide down a few inches. How can that be avoided?
@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors
@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
You can replace that springy strap with a adjustable clip together strap that way you can tighten it up and not have the slide…. however once it does slide down it stays there and does not seem to slide after you sit the first time!

Review the buckshot equilizer for me. It's 20lbs and a gun or bow stand it's adjustable so we don't have to angle up at the base of the tree I think it's not heard of much but the best there is. Joker has an actual gun rest and bow holder.

@@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors I'm about to pull the trigger on a climber, I wanted the equalizer but they ain't fast enough. I personally don't like summit because the damn things don't bite into the tree good enough I have always had a cheapo climber and they bite into any tree just fine without extra straps. I found you before YT on TNU lol. And been watching all the reviews before I make my purchase I think I'm gonna go with something off of Facebook that's 10 years old 😂 I got a few that bite good in their permanent trees but want one under 30lbs that won't be left out. I gun hunt the rut with a rifle but bow hunt some too. Whatcha recommend out of all these stands?

You don’t pull the seat through the holes you pull it out of the way on the other side and pull it up like that as a back pad behind the straps. You basically just have to make shure the seat straps are slid out of the way. I’ve hunted all stands and love my lone wolf assault. But there’s nothing as comfy for all day sits as a viper. Get the foot stand it’s a recliner in the tree

The closer you position your hands,arms,feet,weight to the tree the more trouble your asking for. I know. Keep your weight as far from the tree as you can.
