Sump Diving in Tennessee: Exploring the Unknown

Cool video. So seldom is cave diving filmed, I think because of the logistics of juggling all the gear. I only ever dove a short 20’ sump with a pony bottle, but even that was scary. I give these guys allot of credit. Cave diving is among the most dangerous activities on the planet, right up there with wing suits and base jumping. They might try dye tracing that stream if it is diverted like that. Could be a whole other way into the cave or connect it with another. 😀

Oh it's already been dye traced and we know what it is connected to hydrologically. Imagine if no one ever went to the moon. This is exploration!

Can i make a suggestion? Why not make a neoprene sock to go over the tanks bottoms to eliminate the constant clanging on the rocks?

The tanks are tough, and it gets expensive putting a sleeve over each one. Not really necessary.

That's only really needed with carbon fiber tanks. Where rock can take out large chunks of the tank. Iv carried these tanks through thousands of feet of dry cave. The main concern with steal tanks is breaking or bending the valves, but it's easy to install plugs to prevent this.
