Great video. This is one of the best detailed reviews that I have seen on this RV model. I was looking to buy one of these Sunset RV's, actually the 14 foot one, it's a little smaller but nice. I live in northern Alberta Canada and I couldn't find a dealer that sold Sunset RV's back in 2019. I ended up getting a 2019 Geo Pro 12SRK, much small than yours for sure but I really like it, fits in my garage. Anyway, you did a really good job on pointing out the pros/ cons of this RV. Thanks.

I went with the 149 just for the weight/drive factor. Less weight, less problems. I too am pleased with the construction. So far the only issue I came across with the 149 was the water heater sensor went out real fast. Super easy to replace though. Glad you like the 16BH and haven't had any major issues with it. Great job sir. Appreciate this video. I will say the AC through the wall is the way to go but on the 149 (as you mentioned ) the placement is not good. It's a bizarre location and does nothing for you if you're in bed. Waste of energy. The cook top is away from the bed on the 149 don't know why they didn't do that on yours. I'm going to do what you did with the hose couplers. Thanks again you're living the dream.

Yep I have the same one , I have had it just about a year now, Frist thing I broke was the handel on the refrigerator, still cant find where to get a replacement handle. I put 400 watts of solar panels on mine and 4 100 Amp hour lithium batteries. I found the pre wire from the roof for that was not big enough wire for my liking. install the batteries under the bed. But over all I'm very happy with the trailer also.
@videozar_ Жыл бұрын
Your solar setup has me jealous. Once my battery craps out on me, I'll do something similar. And the handle on the fridge is weird. Everyone with that fridge has the same troubles. Even if the door is empty, you have to push in and up before opening it. From what I understand, that's just a design to keep it from flying open in transit. Once i got used to it, it wasn't a problem.
@owlstarvideos Жыл бұрын
@@videozar_ well actually it's not finished yet I added 3 12v plug combos with USB for the 12 v part of it and the power supply that installed in the trailer will charge the lithium batteries also, so that was good. still have to install the power inverter for 110v. , don't really need it though because I also can carry 3000 watt predator generator if needed, but someday soon I install the renergy 2000-watt inverter, but I think I'll not tie into the 110 wiring in the trailer and just run about two superette plugs so I don't have a loop in charging because i really how to do it correctly at the moment.

I looked into the Bushwackers too. Checked them out in person. They're a few thousand cheaper, but I read too many horror stories about build quality. Less storage inside and a more bland styling. Fewer windows too I think. No awning, or maybe one...only 1 propane tank. Smaller water tanks. If wanted something smaller and cheaper than the 16BH, I'd go with a Sun-Lite 149. From what I can tell, I have a 3 way fridge. It works on normal shore power, battery, or propane. I am assuming this because I've driven for 9 or 10 hours in warm weather and everything in the freezer was still frozen. Propane was turned off. So it does seem that it's getting power from the car.

Thanks. And the 4Runner does great. Enough horse power to haul up mountain passes. Been through Colorado, montana, and Utah with it. Biggest issue was weight distribution and sway. Got an Andersen hitch that made a world of difference. I wouldn't want to tow without it because of the 4Runner's shorter wheel base, soft suspension, and light weight compared to the camper. Since getting the hitch it has been easy one-handed driving.

i purchased the 18rd model, in 2021, pretty much the same camper as this one. mine has north to south queen bed, overhead storage folds down to make a bunk bed. i am pretty sure these do not come with a 3-way fridge ?, mine only works with shore power or propane, no battery power. you may want to check into this before making this statement ?. you are right about the toilet...no idea why they mounted it so high ?..not cool !. i will give you some tips about what troubles i found out on first camping trip with mine, number one: rear door steps were not the correct steps to be mounted on this camper !. i had to replace them on my own dime ( long story, will not get into it ). outside shower water connection under kitchen sink was only hand tight, leaked big time under kitchen sink, easy fix. water pump, MADE IN CHINA !. PLEASE READ THE LABLE ON THE PUMP, IT CLEARLY SAYS, 5 MIN'S ON, 10-15 OFF !, who in their right mind is going to shower in under 5 mins ??..replaced it with a sur-flow water pump. ( i did keep the pump as a spare though ). going off road : be warned !..mine came with 14 inch tires, ( who uses 14 inch tires on trailers these days ? ). needless to say, on one off road trip to the deer camp, one of the jacks on back corner got bent from being so low to the ground. i ended up purchasing a axle conversion flip kit from e-trailer, flipped my axle, gained 2 inches of ground clearance. now my tires look like midgets ?..lol. just changed them out for 205/75/15, goodyear endurance ( these come with tires made in china ) i never had a flat or blow out from them ?..but i did not want to take that chance, ditched them fast just within the past week. ac: it leaked inside from running, it had a name i can not even pronounce ?..lol. tossed it, bought a coleman 13k ac, works very well. windows: when you run the heater ?, the windows will sweat big time !. sooo..after all this, bottom line : i am very happy with my camper, it is well worth the 15k i paid for it !!. you deff need to look into buying this camper name brand !!.

What year model is this? I'm wondering if any of these issues might be fixed in the 2024.

Another poor gentleman bought one of these and had nothing but problems, unfortunately. He made a video about his horrible experience.

I'd be curious to see that video. Can you share the link here?

Why don't you sleep with your head on the other side of the bed

Since making this video i removed the closet and moved the TV to make that possible. Check out my other video on that process to see how it turned out.

@@videozar_ yeah I realized after I commented that you had a closet there 😁. I'm excited to see what you did. Thanks

beautiful inside but not good workmanship at all!
@videozar_ Жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, this workmanship is way above average for the price range, especially compared to other campers built during covid. Almost everything that was built during that time was rushed and slapped together.
