I am a construction professional living in the Philippines and this house is by far the best build I have seen in this country. The design is excellent and the quality of the work is outstanding. The contractors who executed the work were top class which is rare in the Philippines, was the work done by sub-contractors or a turnkey building company? Camera work was very professional and the drone footage was tip top.

As someone else said, this is one of the best buildings I have seen in the Philippines. Most contractors are not going to be able to match this level of quality. It's beautifully laid out as well. The covered terrace is a must as well. Great job.

I like the house of David especially those materials they installed. David must be an architect, the design of the house is excellent! That kind of house might be available in Hampton, Long Island.

What I love about this house is the tiles used in the bathrooms. They look simple (just by watching the video though it might be different in actual because you can feel the texture by touching it) yet the combination of colors and texture makes it look appealing to me.

I can't believe all the nay sayers. Wait a minute. Yes I can. Seems no matter what you do or what you achieve people come out of the woodwork to rain on your parade and project their values on your achievement. Well here's what I think. I'm absolutely proud of James and of the owners of this magnificent home and as a retired USAF vet married to a Filipina and owner of a hand full of rental houses and a grand home myself that we get the privilege to pay over 10k a year for in RE taxes - just to live in, I'm absolutely fed up with all of this struggle to maintain a decent life here in the states. Over the next two years we're downsizing and selling off everything and we will be relocating to the PI. Once there we will find the locale we want and will undertake to build the great home we want, similar to those James has been showing. Planning to use similar techniques as James did in Villa Feliz and will no doubt be bending his generous ear for too many pieces of advice to name. I say to this magnificent home, bravo X 10 - he, and James too, owe no apologies to anyone and frankly it really irritates me to have to sit and read comments from bleeding hearts who apparently think that we should all be ashamed of any success we have struggled to achieve. We should, apparently all go sit in a hovel somewhere and give away everything to poor people - poor people the government is responsible to help but are not helping, and who often could take themselves by their own bootstraps and make something happen for themselves. No offense to anyone here but thats how I see it. Bravo to you James. I'm everso proud of your efforts and your hard won successes. And to the owner/builder of this magnificent estate, please let me know where I can obtain a copy of the house plans and who the architect/builder was. And thank you James, from both me and my wife, Heidi, for helping all of us to learn what we need to know.
@NghtMonster

The poor will always be among us, no matter how much money you put in helping the poor. When you work hard for what you have and what you've achieved, it is your right to live the best life, life of your dreams. It's no one else's business. Envy is painful for some and frankly, not anyone's problem but theirs. Wishing you and everyone else success and bliss if chosing the Philippines as part of your vision.

O. M. G. That's the most amaaaaaazing house!! But tbh .. I could live like that in any Western country, but I couldn't live like that in the Philippines ... I know the P'pines far too well, and I know I just wouldn't feel right amongst all that luxury and space .. 6 bathrooms! .. knowing that there's poor familes of 10 living in such squalor in just one room all around me. The contrast between the poorest and the wealthiest in the Philippines really hit me hard ... I returned home after 6 months with an empty suitcase and an empty bank account because I gave it all away..and I've been back several more times, just to give. I can't bear to see people with absolutely nothing!

Hi James David and Reah's home has an excellent taste and value, with all the updates and specialty their choice of the tiles and modern fixtures thru out the whole house. The idea of accommodating the down spots inside the corners of the walls is very smart and it's good in keeping the integrity of the structure and strength of the Columns. Did notice that they have some solar panels on the rooftop, as another backup in case of brownout or just for the water heater system? Also the location next to a golf course can be a nuisance sometimes with the expectation of some errant balls... It all depends upon the individuals (Different strokes for a different folks). One cannot help but like the design of your villa feliz, it's unique, simple but elegant at the same time, hope you will enjoy it with your family for years to come. Good luck to you and to David and Reah, and by the way you deserve a Junior Pilot Wings Pin! Regards to the lovely Ness. I and the majority of your loyal viewers demand the release of your karaoke recording.
@MyPIDream
@MyPIDream 7 жыл бұрын
I don't think they have any solar other than the hot water heater. As far as the stray balls from the fairway, they have a screen on the outside of their fence that minimizes bad golfers as well as tempered glass on their windows. I didn't think of the pilot wings pin...😁 I did go solo, didn't I? 👍🏼 Thanks for the good comments Ned!

Angelito Mercado sorry to burst your bubble, but not by a huge amount. The land/ lot, yes, but when constructing, not by much, as pricing for fixtures and tiles are similar, but labour is cheaper, but you have to be over there, in person, if you want to make sure everything is up to spec, unless you have an architect/ builder you can trust.

I wanted to build a home the your friends. I was cautioned not to for two reasons. One, in our province, we would have shown wealth. My wife wanted to project us as average people. She did not want to display our wealth. Secondly, if we were ever to sell our home, in our area, such a home would never sell. There would be a rare client for our home if we ever wanted to sell the home. We built our home on land my wife owned, spending about $15,000. We added another $15,000 in upgrades over the years. Today the home would cost about $30,000 to build plus the upgrades. We have the home entirely air conditioned other than the bathrooms. We have ceiling fans, wall fans, glass Scott's in the bathrooms to separate the shower from the commodes. We have added an outdoor laundry area, a dirty kitchen, filled in the land, added cupboards and in general made the home far more westernized. The original home was completed in 2003. We do,a few upgrades each year.

Nice house but by looking at the neighbourhood, this is an exclusively gated and secured Community where developers sometimes set a minimum home prices say for ten million pesos, which is not within the reach of average Filipinos. Not surprising the community is made up of rich locals, businessmen and definitely politicians. Great video James and the house is very impressive. Love the details on the construction.

Flat roofs are great for Arizona where there is little rain but they can be trouble in places with monsoon downpours.
@MyPIDream
@MyPIDream 7 жыл бұрын
Good point. I asked David about that when I was staying there and he said he doesn't have an issue. I think he designed a good drainage system in his roof.
@tq5788
@tq5788 7 жыл бұрын
We also have a flat concrete roof and we have no issues for 20 years. The beach is very much part of our backyard. Typhoons, strong wind and heavy downpours are pretty much part of the tropical lifestyle. Having a flat roofing could mean durability, security and less corrosion issue as compared to the typical roofing materials here in the Philippines.
@PMLynch
@PMLynch 7 жыл бұрын
Having a concrete roof with no seams must be the answer...most of the flat roofs I've been around in the U.S. have leaking issues...having a one piece concrete roof with adequate drainage sounds like the way to go.

Beautiful house welcoming fence automatically opened and 3 car garage nice 👍 I would like to see more the roof top. The railing from his bedroom view look under the safety code too low I think it should be 4 feet. . Another thing I would like to see is an elevator. Overall the house is spectacular.

Why not make the roof usable and put trees and plants up there and seats/benches and some rails up so you can really get an even better view? You could have parties up there and watch the stars. That house is pretty dang nice though.

This a interesting vlog. Lots of ideas and thoughts. One aspect is the time and effort used to design the internal and external parts. The garden looks like the gardener has put in some nice screening plants. I heard the house size was 550sq/feet, but wasn't clear about the plot size. I'm not a big fan of flat roof houses or extensions. Just because they have issues with leaks years later if it's not expensively maintained IMO. It did kinda remind me of a fire station from the front, with the garage doors. Thanks for allowing us to look around and the nifty drone work. Salamat
