There's some texture granularity on I reckon the mid-highs of the SONY that stand out to my ears. I don't know whether I sit comfortable or not about this "improved" sound but I like the sound.

Excelente video hifirulezz, todas se escuchan estupendamente, pero como dices tu la Pioneer, le quita ligeramente gama media la SONY igual, la mas fiel al audio original es la Nakamichi. Estos Deck si se podían comprar en su momento, pero un Nakamichi Dragon no, era bastante caro igual que las Revox, Tascam. Pero muy buenas la tres. Me gustaría que en algún momento te callera un TEAC C1, para ver que tal se comporta. He oído muy buenos comentarios de ese Deck.

This interesting comparison shows how sound comparisons are difficult when you have high quality material in test. These machines were certainly not entry level in the early 1990's.Even if there's always small differences in results, it's excellent and largerly sufficient for most walkman or car audio usage! Anyway, some should complain you could have there high end AKAI (GX95 was also a monster) or another high end TEAC / TASCAM, Revox/Studer decks and so on... However, I personnaly always had a preference for Nakamichi models. They also probably produced some of the best 3 heads decks available: the famous "DRAGON" model was considered as an absolute reference then, but with a 3 x DR2 price tag.

The original Recording from the Computer sounds a bit cold and the Nakamichi just brings it to life and puts you in the sound, very enjoyable to listen to. The pioneer sound is good and Better than the SONY but That NAKAMICHI knocks them out every time!

I don't know if you can answer this but I have a Sony TC-K222 ESL . Now when I got it ,it didn't work all the display did was flash on and off. The levels were full. Could never go down. Same thing with calibration and every time I tried to play the tape it would just shut down and when I brought it in to get it serviced they said they could not fix it because the thing that elevates the heads up and down there's a plastic piece that they can't get a replacement for. Was this nonsense? Is it true? Is there any alternative so I can get this fixed? Thank you

It would help if you did a bit of exorcism :) resolder ground bus on the main board - watch my other videos explaining level jumps. If the indicator stumbled - remove the IR sensor. As for mechanical - I can't give advice never seen the problem.

nakamichi renders vcls more 4ward & mid-rangey .. unsure if i like it .. prefer Pioneer 4 reasons noted elsewhere
