I've been watching your forecast intently, looking for that slight northerly turn that could bring it into the gulf. Beryl is stronger than the models are showing, so to me a layman in weather, Texas is still on the menu. I'll be watching every video from now to final landfall closely. Well Jamaica is a fairly small target so we don't yet know whether they will suffer a direct hit. If they do, Beryl is likely to still be a strong hurricane at that time, though possibly weaker than it currently is. I'm not an expert on the local details of how hurricanes typically impact different communities in Jamaica, so I would defer to local experts and authorities for that guidance.

It looks to me like HWRF has been doing the best job with this storm. Sadly, it's showing a much stronger, more Northerly storm late in the forecast than the global models.

A lot of people can lose sight of the fact that this is a small storm. This is an important fact, because a small hurricane is one of the toughest kind of hurricane to forecast. So many small scale atmospheric changes can greatly affect the path and intensity. Andrew is a perfect example from 1992 of a small hurricane. The belief was that it would weaken and go out to sea. Granted there is much more advanced and improvement in forecasting with the technology, but it shows you the unpredictable nature of a storm’s path.

It will eventually, but that doesn't guarantee Beryl will turn north around it when that happens. Depends on where and how strong the storm is at the time it occurs.

If any data supported that the Dr would have mentioned it. Large scale pressure areas are easier to predict, it’s the small scale that’s tricky which why there are a few different westward curves mentioned in this video.
