You are made for more than a secondhand relationship with God.
We have 29 days until Christmas. And so much can change in that time. If we are willing to commit to spending 29 minutes every day for the next 29 days...if we are willing to beg the Lord to reveal Himself to us...everything could be different in just 29 days.

I recently feel as though I had a conversion. Each Wednesday since I retired, I spend time with the blessed sacrament. It truly has changed me, in the way I knew Him as a child and young person. I had been reading how to make a good confession by Fr. Mike and I simply walked into the church office, asked to speak to a priest, and just like that I made my confession with a very holy priest. It was so surreal, I was having a conversation with Jesus. ❤️💖 If you have reservations about going to confession, listen to Fr. Mike , he is waiting for us, he is here.

330,000 little boys in France were raped by 3,000 catholic pedophile priests, and it barely made the news, because people EXPECT that from catholics. Jesus said child rape was unforgivable (Matt 18:6-14), and everyone involved will get eternal damnation. THAT is what you've converted to.

I've asked Jesus to reveal himself to me before during Holy communion. I was expecting a miracle in the Eucharist. Nothing happened. Then 2 days later I had a dream and Jesus came to me in his disfigured appearance from the crucifixion. He looked at me with so much love and I knew that he knew me by the look in his eyes. I was so embarrassed because I couldn't remember him. It took all of my courage to ask him who he was. He replied" I thought you asked me to reveal myself to you!" I knew there and then that it was Jesus because I had said that prayer in my heart on the way to receive Holy communion and had not shared it with anyone. He then changed and was lying stark naked in his Mother's arm (a long time after that dream I came across the Pieta for the first time I realised that this was the image I saw in my dream), but his nakedness was not embarrassing. Everytime I held his head up he would speak to me and when I let go it would flop. I'm still not sure why Jesus would need me to hold his head. I've never looked at communion the same way and always feel like bowling everyone over 😂to receive Him because of how precious Jesus's flesh is. I love you Jesus!

Since July this year, here in our tiny town, the Adoration Chapel was opened, I felt so happy, so I decided to go every Thursday, but as you said, I felt like if Jesus were telling me to go to visit him every day, so If started doing so, and now I feel the need to be with him not just a few minutes, but as much as I can, and, I feel so blessed! No matter how tire I am, or how many things I have to do at work or at home, my Jesus give the strength to go on, and I'm sure, Mother Mary prays for me too.

I wish I had added this prayer from St. Anselem when I read it in the Office from Friday Dec 2nd. It's a great prayer to pray while spending time with Jesus. From the "Proslogion of St. Anselm. Teach me to seek you, and reveal yourself to me when I seek you, for I cannot seek you unless you teach me, nor find you unless you reveal yourself. Let me seek you in longing, let me long for you in seeking; let me find you by loving you and love you in the act of finding you.

What you are saying, 29 days? That's what I said last year at this time my dad was in the hospital, the entire 29 days of Advent, still counting the days and he passed on January 2nd, we were not allowed to see him, he was not allowed to see his children due to COVID protocol. We we're not allowed to be with him when he needed us the most. I cannot describe or have the right words but each day should live in the present. You are right Father, 29 days, anything can happen...this years Advent, 29 days, I will be in the present each day, reach of the 29 days as the daughter of my father, praying daily to my heavenly Father, thanking him for all the time I've had with my earthly Father. Thank you, I love you Lord.

THis idea of the intimate relationship with Jesus/God, or even Mary seem so elusive to me. I hear from others through my life how they "know" Jesus, rely on Jesus, have MET Jesus...and they can't describe to me how they KNOW him, but rest assured they do. It's very enticing, no doubt. Especially in my particular season of life that is struggle within family, with my faith. It would be nice to KNOW how close, to have that KNOWLEDGE of God's presence.

Fr, I daresay that, yes, life in general is difficult. There is no absence of struggle and suffering in any season of life. But I can honestly say that I can feel the sense of dread closing in by the end of October. It never fails. The rest of my life throughout the year is basically series of ups and downs and "no big deal." But something about this time going into winter is dreadful. My internal self groans and I'm tempted to announce "HOW I HATE.....winter, cold, people, messes, having to clean up, my job...whatever." And then, juxtapose that with "happy christmas" tunes and the advertisements for gift giving and the pressure to ensure the kids have some kind of "magic" for Christmas. All I want to do is crawl under a huge redwood and hibernate until March.

In 29 days, I will know whether they got all of the cancer out of my throat. It’s taking them from September to get this squared away and finally we had some light breakthrough what has been a really dark. I am praying and hoping and I have a really lovely group of people who are keeping me in their prayers, but I hope nine days they’ll say well we have to do a round of chemo just to be sure, or radiation. I know they’re both possibilities, but hopefully this thing in my throat that has screwed up my life will be gone, and I will simply be getting to heal and have the medication or whatever is necessary to make sure that it doesn’t come back, so you’re right your life can change in 29 days.

hi Fr Mike. thank you so much for sharing your homilies. it never fails, it's like they're speaking right to me. i came back to the Church in 2016 for what that year of mercy was per Pope Francis. i started to pray more and take a deeper dive into the faith. i've been learning so many things that i don't remember learning in Catholic grade and high school. (i just turned 56) i've been like a sponge since then, trying to absorb as much as i can about the faith, Jesus, prayer, etc. so in your homily, when u said 'other ppls' experience with being close to Jesus, it's like i was meant to hear that bc that's where i'm at. i read about ppl in the Bible that had a close relationship with God..about all kinds of saints who Jesus spoke to, and their close relationship to Jesus. and i think, what am i doing wrong? i love to pray, and i pray a lot..like 2.. sometimes 3 hours a day., and say the Rosary. but i just can't seem to form a relationship w Jesus like other ppl do. i went to Eucharistic Adoration today for the first time, ever. i was the only one there. i said some Adoration prayers, then i just sat there and tried to meditate, and i got nothin' lol what i mean is that i have learned that meditational prayer is important, and i try and i try, and nothing happens..i don't feel Jesus working in me to speaking to me. i don't feel him in meditational prayer, but since i started on my spiritual journey, i know He is definitely present in, and working in my life. i've had some incredible things happen in my life for which the ONLY explanation is Divine intervention. i have very little in life as far as worldly things go, but for what i do have, i feel abundantly blessed. and i feel blessed in my spiritual life. but i long to feel a true, solid closeness to Jesus. i pray for it, but i guess i must practice the virtue of patience more. and again, thank you. you truly are a gift and you help so many ppl, including me. God has blessed you. peace be with you.

Jesus is my close Friend which I treasure. But sometimes I act like He’s my buddy instead of my Lord. This 29 min. each day has reminded me of His majesty. And it’s shown me clearly an area that I’ve “carved out” for my control, not His; one where I’m haughty. I’m surrendering it to Him again. PS. Good call on 29 mins., Fr. Mike. That seems way more do-able than 30, like $4.99 is a lot less than $5.00. 😂

Um, 5ft is too far away. Maybe we can play Hot or Cold till you're closer. Maybe not. Here's a hint: If He's not literally in you then you don't have Him close to you, not even during Adoration. This is probably going to sound too easy to be true (However! Let me pre-reference this with- it took me countless months of work to figure this out..., smh)..., God is love, the source of love, the emotion and energy of love...if you love then God is present within you. The more you love the more God's presence is with you. If you meditate on love you are thereby mediating on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If during that meditation you feel an expansion of love, you are increasing God's active presence within you. This is why He keeps telling me to encourage ppl to stop judging other ppl's dos and don'ts, to stop dividing ppl into political camps, to stop allowing ppl to run amuck from original scriptures and to, instead, focus on feeling. God is powerful which means He is a force, an energy. He is more than our sensations of love, it's true, but our sensation of love is how we experience Him so that's really nothing to look down upon. There are different types of "love" we can experience, this is also true. And, God is not outside any of these. However, if you want to truly understand how this is, you have to understand mericful and compassionate love and their sources, where they indwell within us.

Like if I could eg try to despise people less? I'm not sure I want :) people never say anything clearly, try to provoke or humiliate me. Me! :)) one honest conversation and they will lose. So one allusion or bad joke and I begin to hunt and push until they disappear. Because people are cowards to speak clearly

If this message and messages like it don’t resonate with you then don’t listen. There is no reason for sacrilegious comments.

Fr. Mike, thank you, and may God continue to bless you. You are a good and faithful servant. My question is, I'm not Catholic. How⁸ can I spend my daily 29 minutes?

You can still go to a Catholic Church and spend time with Jesus in the Eucharist if you aren’t Catholic! Look up Catholic churches near you and check their bulletin or call their office for adoration times.
