I have a case manual and it refers to a tow valve on the pump that could be in the wrong position causing power failure to the wheel. I can’t find it on either of my pumps, any suggestions

I don't suppose that you have a link or a part number for those seal kits?

Morning! good video, its hard to find anything on these pumps, I have this in a small New Holland L250 skid steer, my pups work but there very noisy, and it seems to get worst the more you work it, its a confusing issue cause im not sure if its normal?, when yours was working did you find it very noisy, like squeely?, also would you know what model these units are?, thanks for your time.

did cleaning the trash out of the relief did the pump work? i'm experiencing similar problem. i've resealed and put new bearings along with lapping the piston and plate. one works great the other worked barely with a delay then nothing on that side at all

The pump works, I found it wasn't the pump at all. The bolts weren't allowing the pump to engage enough. It was sent making noise, as belts usually do when they slip. The only way I noticed it, I burried the bucket in a pile and tried to push it while I looked at the belts. At that time it slowed down, causing low pressure.. unused hydro guages to make sure the two pumps had similar pressure. Have you checked the charge pump pressure in both pumps?

Hi Brian, I have the same problem on the left side of my 1816. I was following Pronghorn on his channel to see if it all worked out for him. How did it work out for you, was it the pump or the drive motor. I put a used 24 hp Kohler eng, in mine about 5 yrs ago.

I ordered a set of hydro gauges , I want to test the charge pump for proper pressure,

Brian, can you pull the front seal out of this pump without taking the shaft out? Mine leaks a bit and I'm scared to tale it clear down. Thanks

You can take the seal out without the shaft out. In fact, you have to completely disassemble the pump to remove the shaft. You can simply pull the front cover off to change the seal. Just make certain to put it back on exactly the same way. The front cover orientation changes the internal charge pump rotation.

Hello Brian, I also have an 1816B that I have had for about 10 years. When I got it, it still had the original Tecumseh 16 hp engine but it was weak and I swapped it out for a Intek 18 hp twin Briggs & Stratton which was not a easy but has done the job well since. Well, except these B&S engines have a plastic gear on the starter and for this I would not recommend it. I too am having a similar issue with the left side creating a loud squeal under load. If the pump is only slightly actuated, it will move forward, but if it is actuated further with resistance under load, it begins to squeal and loses power completely. If there is not as much resistance, it operates normally. This sounds similar to what you described in the video so will be sure to check that next. What do you think? Well done on the vid and thanks!!!

A lot of famers that have these will just dump regular dirty engine drain oil into the hydraulics. PS, is some one sleeping near by? you sure are talking soft, lol
