I love the hose but my is fully extended and it will not retract!! Keep pulling left, right, up and down but won't retract... frustrating and I don't want to take the thing apart. Any ideas?

I had this happen before. I had to give quite a bit of tension on the hose to get it to retract. I stood a few feet away from the reel and pulled on the hose with my body weight and it retracted. Hope that helps

I bought one of these, I cannot get it to retract, and now the ENTIRE hose is out of the casing. I've only had it for about eight weeks. Any ideas?

Interesting. If you haven’t yet, make sure the lock switch on the side is not in the lock position. I have had no issues with mine. If you can’t get it fixed try reaching out to Sunneday on their website. They do have a killer 3 year warranty on the reel. Good luck!

Yo, that looks hefty. Does it feel heavy without a hose in it? And if I have a 100 ft hose.. is this the model I want to be buying?

It comes equipped with the hose- I don’t think you can buy it without the hose already in it. It is heavy, though- any 100ft hose would be. Id say it’s about 40lbs. But about 90% of the weight is from the hose itself.

I haven’t tried Gardena personally, but I’ve seen that with Gardena you have to purchase different fittings due to them not having standard US fittings. I’m sure it’s a good reel though. I’m going into my 3rd year with the Sunneday and I love it. Sunneday has a 3 year warranty as well.

It has held up really well. My only complaint is the casing has faded from being in the sun.

I would recommend every once on a while clean the case, dry it and then apply some of those sprayable ceramic coatings that are used for vehicles, like Griot’s Garage brand.
