I thought you did an excellent job previewing this boat. Your voice was mellow and the camera work very good. Beautiful boat, but if you don't mind, I have a few questions and please understand I'm only a bystander and hardly know much about boating, especially sailing. I'm just in awe of the adventure of sailing the high seas and enjoy watching videos of same. On the other hand, my dad was the boat person in the family, he was a veteran Merchant Mariner during WWII and owned a number of boats during his lifetime. He possessed a capt's license for up to 60-ton vessels. I noticed, except for the master cabin there was no room on either side of the passenger cabin beds. This means the beds are difficult to make and likely stay unmade most of the time. It reminded me of how things look in a tent or in an RV with limited space. I suppose there may be no solution to this due to spacing, but is downsizing the width of the bed an option? The helm station looked fully exposed, does the boat have the option of enclosing it? I'm sure there are ways of enclosing it with canvass, but I noticed this on other catamarans while I have also observed helm stations that were well protected from the elements. I prefer the latter, but I suppose most of these vessels seek out water and locations, as I have seen on numerous videos that provide fair weather most of the time. I don't think it would be fun or good for you to be exposed to UV and heat blasting down on the helm most of the time. Crew quarters are functional but depressingly too small. There should at least be a desk available or if there was a way to enlarge the space that would help with crew morale. Are the metal stair rails grounded? Will wearing rubber-soled shoes prevent you from getting shocked by static electricity every time you touch them? I know there aren't any carpets so that minimizes static build-up, just wondering. What is the minimum crew number required to operate this boat safely? That would be including a hands-on owner to help out. I'm sure the manufacturer has equipped the boat with as many sailing aids possible, including auto mechanical devices to minimize the heavy lifting during sail deployment and adjustment? I've seen videos of smaller cats, one was 43' and a two-person crew sailed it handily. This boat seemed like a handful. I also noted a lack of handholds running along the outer walkways, handrails above the cabin glass that is. I know the walkway is very wide, but in rough seas, you get pitched left and right, so what do you hold on to when you get thrown against the cabin glass? Again, I'm just an enthusiast and find sailing interesting in general. Thank you again for the fine walkthrough of an outstanding looking vessel that appears to be very well constructed with excellent materials.

I find it odd that those massive built-in shelves in the staterooms don’t have any kind of straps or bars to keep everything from crashing down in even a light sea state.

It's a good voice over. I would have some more notes or info sheet while doing the voice over. I like that there isn't any annoying music! Also let us know of the details which is sometimes hard to see on a vid. Like the cabinetry, hinges, joints, squeaks in the floor while walking, that sort of thing. Great job, do more like this vid!👍

A husband and wife team just pulled up behind us in the Canary Islands. If they made it here, I assume they can sail the ocean with jus the two of them. Im on a Lagoon 40 with my S.O. and we have a ton of space we aren't using. I couldn't imagine owning a Sunroof 50. Entire sections of the boat would go unused with two people.

I just wonder about doing an week long passage with a fly bridge? True, most of the time the autopilot is on and you can keep watch from the navigation station. But I've got to wonder about sail trimming and dropping sails with a storm approaching without a protected helm position.

@heisenbugz5 жыл бұрын
Why not?
@dalesmth15 жыл бұрын
Paul Bechard In open water it’s best to have the sail area low to the deck, in case of a freak gale. Having a fly bridge moves the sail further up the mast, meaning there’s a slightly better chance of the cat going turtle up. A fifty footer is probably okay. Anything under that presents a higher risk.
@heisenbugz5 жыл бұрын
