I remember when Northwest childrens entertainer J.P. Patches showed Super Chicken, as well as George Of The Jungle and Tom Slick on his show. I grew up with this in the 70's. hahahaha

This episode has a different feel than some others. Very funny, but the drawing and animation stands out. It’s almost like this episode was farmed out to Fred Crippen. It has a Roger Ramjet sensibility. 🤔

This also sounds like one of the episodes Rich Harrison did sound editing on, given some of the different sound effects (like at 0:58). He largely worked on the "Tom Slick" segments, but he also did the sound effects for three "George" shorts and three "Super Chicken" shorts.

The male voice was Daws Butler and the female voice was June Foray, both regulars on Rocky & Bullwinkle as well as Fractured Fairy Tales. June was also the voice of Marigold on "Tom Slick" and Ursula on "George of the Jungle."

What great jokes are in this episode and in all the episodes as well. I'm sure the actor who voiced Merlin Brando also worked on the Bullwinkle Show (fractured fairy tales). Also the magic mirror must be easily impressed as Super Chicken only ran across the T V screen a few times.

Yeah, that's the late, great Daws Butler voicing Merlin Brando. He often used that Phil Silvers-esque voice in the "Fractured Fairy Tales" segments, along with Hanna-Barbera's Hokey Wolf. Though when he starts imitating a woman's voice at 3:01, it changes to June Foray.
