Nah, sorry, too much garbage released to even consider restoring my faith in most video game companies. These 2 games are outliers of the norm, and it's sad that this is the current norm. Don't get me mistaken. This is a great step towards fixing the norm of what is a good video game. It's up to consumers to push that though with their wallets.

My first day as a member of the helldiver corps, it was wet, humid, chaotic, nothing at all like the simulations on Mars. Of course, that's pretty much the way it was for all of us, wasn't it? all those years of training... it doesn't really prepare you for all the screaming or the blood, does it? Frankly I'm still amazed we ever made it through the first hour, never mind the first day. Incredibly, the helldiver corps survived the crucible of The Creek, emerging battle-hardened, and ready for whatever the war would throw at us.

only thing she fails to mention is that its either serve the "democracy" of super earth or humanity is wiped out by the space bugs and automatons. (think WH40k) still a fun video tho

We don't actually know what would happen if we canonically lost. In lore, the bugs were peaceful when first encountered, they are a fully sentient and sapient species and they function like ants rather than through a hive mind like many assume, making each bug an individual. First contact was rough since humans found the appearance of Terminids disgusting but the bugs had actually figured out a form of communication with us when Super Earth learned they bled oil and... Well, HD1 Super Earth was a parody of the USA, you can figure out the rest. Still early bugs just fought for freedom and survival. Meanwhile, the declared mission of the Cyborgs was gaining the independence of Cyberstan and their sister colonies and putting a stop to Super Earth's lies and corrupt totalitarian government wearing the mask of a democracy. If they had won, humanity would have actually fared better. Finally the Iluminates had achieved harmony with their AI creations and were a utopian society built around the sanctity of knowledge and learning. They sought to spread their ways and lead the other races of the galaxy as they uncovered together the secrets of the stars, only to find a bunch of violent monkeys fucking shit up. Any of the enemy factions winning in Helldivers 1 would have probably been a good ending. Cut to 100 years later, HD2, the Terminids are way more violent and probably see wiping us out as the only way to ensure their freedom and survival. The Automatons definitely hate our guts for what we did to their parents the cyborgs and adorn their camps with human innards and from their new designs the Iluminate seem to have devolved into bestial zealots. And yet, for all we know, that might all be Super Earth propaganda. The Automatons hate Super Earth, yes, but there is such a thing as fear tactics meant to demoralize and expedite victory, maybe Super Earth falls, they just go home and rebuild, rather than stooping to our level. The Bugs understand better than anyone that a hive acts in accordance to the queen's orders, maybe they will just take the chance to flee deeper into the stars once they cut the serpent's head. And the Iluminate were our betters, maybe they still are, and when the lies are no more they extend their hand and lift us from the ashes of ignorance as they always meant to do. We just don't know.

The illuminate have sent a bone chilling warning that they mean business this time and they will drown us in our blood. That is not the kind of broadcast you shotgun into space if your intentions are simply just to smack someone around. The bugs just attack. Enough said.

Step 1: fall from the sky and get out of the hell pot. Step 2: look around you, the terrain and the enemies are a secondary thing, look for the freeking red beams. Step 3: once located a red beam try to read what it says, if you are lucky enough it'll read 500kg bomb or so. If that's the case run towards the opposite direction and dive. If not then go to step 4. Step 4: read "380 mm barrage". Step 5: pray... Pray and run for your live while seeing hell deploy from above the sky. Step 6: wait until your teammates call reinforcements. Repeat from step 1.

If the average helldiver age is 18 years old then it’s totally accurate to write a grim dark sci if book about a squad of teenagers who discover the reality of super earth and because no one else wants to do it, a bunch of kids end up fighting the government (and its expected that at least 3/4 of them won’t make it alive to the 5th book)
