Regarding the tke’s, would a heavier band be a progression of walking backwards on a treadmill or would the next best thing be to upgrade to a sled pull? Do you have any recommendations for what to progress if you have a treadmill and bands but no sled?

@Alckemy I would put the heavy alternating TKEs above backwards treadmill walking in terms of loading the knees. I would recommend just adding time or band tension to alternating TKEs to progress. Sled drags are awesome for knee extension and general strengthening, but they don't force you to lock out the way the heavy band does. Ideally you could add both into your program for the different benefits, but if you don't have a sled it's not the end of the world. You can just supplement with other squat, lunge and/or leg extension type movements. One I really like is the Goblet Squat TKE, where both legs are banded like the alternating TKEs. From there you hold a weight and squat against the band resistance to stress the lockout. Let me know if that makes sense!

@ absolutely, my only follow up question would be about the drive you get from heel up walking backwards. Would the goblet squat still provide that challenge? I don’t stomp on the tread mill when I walk of course but the load feels very similar to landing for a swing. Thank you! Love this stuff.

I suppose you could also add tke to a poloquin squat

Yes absolutely. Get creative! You can TKE anything. Right now for you I'm thinking of a forward lunge into reverse lunge complex, where the working leg stays stationary and the other leg move forward and backwards. You could TKE that (just tried it and it felt amazing). Now you're making me want to make a TKE variations video haha.
