Games like game 2 are the reason I love chess! Fascinating!

Game 2 features some crazy prep by both eric and unicornz
@nephandi23162 ай бұрын
I found the long endgame down an exchange for a pawn even more interesting than the prep, this material inbalance often gives silent and slow improvement until suddently one player is better, and this game definitely delivers

@@nephandi2316 I really loved the clinical way Eric shut the opponents rooks and bishop out of the game.

Loved game 2! I was certain that was headed for a draw, but great positional play be Eric converted it to a win: lock down the opponent's pieces, then gradually improve the position of your own pieces until your opponent gives you an opening. Well done! I couldn't believe Eric ignored the draw offer on move 35 in game 3. His opponent had a winning advantage. Eric managed to eke out a win on time.

In the first game, 5. g4 is interesting in that line of The Modern and I was surprised to see that it is only the NINTH most popular move! After 5... Nf6; 6. h3, if black plays 6... b5 as in the game, then 7. e5 looks good. If black goes 6... h5, then 7. g5 Nfd7; 8. Bg2 looks good.
@Mal12345672 ай бұрын
In the last game, playing h6 during the opening would have prevented his knight from occupying g4.

Duck Chess is the best variant. It adds flavor to the game without taking too much of the chess out of chess. I wouldn't say it's fallen out of popularity. At least I certainly hope not.... ...Quack
