This was an amazing story ❤ RIP Christopher Reeve. Amazing strength and character. It was a shame the theater was empty when I saw it. I feel everyone has something to gain from such a story.

Christopher Reeve - what more can anyone say about him - a Superman on screen - played immaculately - too well as he struggled to get away from the biggest comic book hero - ever! He talked about not being a hero - he wasn't that man - the only thing I would disagree - he WAS Superman - what he did for communities - awareness, advocacy, hope, believing in tomorrow - he gave hope to so many and helped so many - I always said that he felt that if he didn't make it - that he had one last 'Superman' job to do - save people - it's quite simple - Christopher Reeve was in a class of his own - he had flaws like we all do - but oh my what a legacy R.I.P sir

I don’t think I ever cried as much as watching the documentary, my mother would talk endless about princess diana and Christopher reeves, if it wasn’t for her I don’t think I would have been a longtime fan of dc and marvel just watching countless movies with her, after watching the documentary and seeing his kids talk about his death, just brought me back to the hospital 8 years back to when I lost my mom, truly just broke me.

This seems very much worth watching. Regarding Christopher Reeve's role as superman: the only actor IMO this is comparable to would be Leonard Nimoy's Mr. Spock. He portrayed that alien so perfectly, later tried to get away from this role. Later he came to terms with it and embraced his "Alter Ego" fully (the second part of his autobiography describes this process very well).

He died in 2004, not 2005. I'm agree, will would be a good Superman!

Not playing anywhere near me so I unfortunately can't share the communal experience of this story with others.

Why they didnt feature his episode on smallville was a travesty. That was a powerful performance

What're your thoughts on the new Superman?

There is none. The company will be sold a THIRD time in 5 years then whoever buys this dumpster fire of a company will dissolve the comic division. They don't understand these characters anymore and therefore they should LOSE THEM.

I can imagine his Dad not being happy with him being Superman. I’m almost 50. And i can remember a time when liking Comics you were made fun of and looked down. Same with a lot of sci fi. Suoerman 78 changed a lot of that. But he did get typed cast. He had some great rolls like Somewhere in Time. I think he was in Children of the Corn, The Aviator, Switching Channels. So I imagine a lot of fans had trouble separating the man from the character.

He wasn't in Children of the Corn, so how would you know if he was typecast if you don't even know what movies he's in? I can think of worse characters to be typecast as than Superman. Crackhead Cavill played ULTRAMAN a homicidal maniac clone of the character, and made next to nothing doing it - nothing that loser is in makes money. Even in Reeve's "worst" movies, they're still better than the trash they're trying to force down peoples' throats now trying to PRETEND it's Superman (which is also why they don't make money either, it's not the character).
