Hope everyone enjoyed! Please check out both AdamFerrari64 and Larvistar who helped out majorly. Their links are below. I also want to give a shoutout to the multiple artists who allowed me to use their music. All their links are below too! Little reminder that I do other stuff outside of this! I do speedruns on twitch too at www.twitch.tv/storster/ Currently going for under 5 minutes in Super Mario Bros. I also have a community discord too! discord.com/invite/ysJ7KdN

This is the first game I’ve ever played in my entire life, introduced to me by my mother over twenty years ago. She passed away this August. Today is her birthday. Thank you mom for introducing me to video games. They have been one of the most important things to me all because of you. I’m not good at them but they help me so much with dealing with life by providing me with an escape from it. Thank you so much. I love you.

Visually, Mario Land speed runs look very similar to the Super Mario Bros runs, just on a surface level. On a side note, I enjoy the Super Mario Bros 1/Super Mario Land 1 kind of 2D Mario game above all other 2D Mario’s, I guess I’m just a simple kinda guy. Being able to see all the level design has to offer without things hiding off screen makes these games more enjoyable for me. That plus the level design being made to run through nonstop makes them a lot more fun to me than the other games in their respective series. You can’t really do that in other games, playing casually, cuz Mario takes up a lot more of the screen and you don’t get a good view on the level around you.

I used to speedrun this game LONG before I knew what speedrunning was. I have NO idea what my times were, but I'm sure they were not impressive. I had an original gameboy and this was one of my few games.

That’s not true that the only way to record an unmodified gameboy is use a camera. Theresa someone on Etsy who makes and sells a cartridge which you put your game cartridge into and put the whole thing in your gameboy, and it has an out to stream video.
@flyingtomato9810 ай бұрын
Many speedruns have historically been disqualified for not using brand name devices, ie, if you are playing a Nintendo game then it has to be on a console made by Nintendo with no other alterations. Hence why they say the only way is with a camera or with a game boy player that you can hook up a capture card to. There unfortunately arent many wires that can connect a game boy to a computer.
