Super Mario RPG Remake: A Beginner's Guide

Some Character Roles for Everyone who wants to see it Mario: Jack of All Trades, good in most Every Department, but Excels in Single-Target Damage. Does not as well dealing damage to group. Mallow: Mage, Excels in doing Magical Damage, and can do Superb Damage to Groups of enemies with his Spells, has the highest Special Defense of the Group. Geno: Glass Cannon, Has Super Good Damage output, but the lowest defenses of the Group. Bowser: Physical Brute, Does Good Physical Damage and can Take Physical Damage quite well, has the highest Health and Physical Defense of the Group, but is Lackluster when it comes to dealing/taking Magical Attacks. Peach: Support, Has Really good Support moves to debuff/stop the Enemy, and has Good Recovery for either one ally or the Whole Group, has Lackluster defenses and Attack though, has the lowest Health Stat, but the Highest Magic Attack Stat. (Her Recovery Options Scale with your Magic Attack) Building a Team that can Back eachother up and Negate their weaknesses is essential for the Game.

Another tip, put on armor and pins on. It will help out alot. You get to see what benefit they have on the player you have on your team.

Just got Super Mario RPG on launch day yesterday and it's exactly as I remember it. Of course with the few other things they added to the game. Point being is I LOVE IT!

I really have no problem with the little "!" that appears to indicate when you should block, but also, there was a lot of fun and a sense of discovery that came with having to figure it out through trial and error. It's not like the game is so brutally difficult that you're going to die a lot while trying to figure it out. That said, they should note when certain magic attacks can either be blocked or boosted by timed presses, but leave out exactly when. Just my 2 cents.

The Timings for Everyone except for Geno are fine, that's just you

In the paper Mario series and Mario and Luigi, the timing is always consistent and makes sense, you press the a button right as you hit the opponent, not at some arbitrarily specific point right before you throw your attack like Bowser or Geno. Or a second before the attack lands like with Mario. I got used to it because they showed the action command sometimes in the remake, but it’s 10x worse in the original.

@@Phillylove100 well, that's what practice is for, with the Abundance of Enemies, it's easy to get consistent with weapon Timings (this Especially Applies to how the characters have 2-3 weapon types, so the timings stay somewhat consistent between upgrades)

@@KZbinHANDLERAHHHH Well yeah and in the remake it’s actually possible because you’re not just guessing when the timings are because they tell you the exact timing until you get the hang of it. I still find the button timings in the other Mario RPGs to be much much much more intuitive.

You can actually block with any button

@TheGamer: Some mistake where made while explaining thing the mushroom from the tressure chess that is not a bag with and i on it. Recover both your hp and fp, the same with sleeping, the flower from the item box that is not flower in a bag with and i on it. like if you have 12/12 flower point, and you get that flower you will have 12/13 so it does not recover your fp it just add one. So for example if you have 8/12 beccause you used some of it, and you get that flower it will be 8/13. The flower in a bag are called flower tab, flower jar, and flower box, and does one will increase it and recover your flower point, flower tab just by one, and I don't rember but I think flower jar is by 5. The flower gives a higher amount compare to the flower jar, and also the flower box is rare.

Considering you have an analog stick now, it feels like any other 3d game

As a veteran of the og game I can tell you that after ten minutes of playing it it will feel fine and the perspective wont be an issue
