Super Mario World (SNES) - Speed Run

This is a speed run through the game Super Mario World for Super Nintendo. This run was completed in January of 2012 and is my personal best time for this game. I know I can improve it. I'm roughly 3 seconds off the current world record time by a japanese player who goes by 'yaposon'.
Without the mistakes in the final stage, I think I would have surpassed the record by 1 or 2 seconds. This run is pretty nice, but I'm still going to try and improve it further.

Sick run. I used to beat it in 15-17 mins last decade but that was when I was a kid. Your upload is inspiring me to test the Star Road skip-whole-game scenario again to see how I'd do now.

mario's journey is done, after all the hard work, all the time spent trying to save the princess. YEA, I ONLY TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES!

Andrew the records yours to take, good luck. viewers: he killed himself because its faster to die then finish the stage normally, he only plays that level for the glitched orb which is used to skip the first castle

@megagregorz Yep! It's a bit tricky - took me a little time to master it. Basically, you have to shoot the Rex, jump off the yoshi, and have yoshi's tongue eat the coin you've just created at the same time you grab the coin. So basically, run until you hear the "chuck" turn around to about midway on the pipe and then press Y+A+> It's complicated to explain, fairly easy to do overall though.

+SnickerOfSteel its a glitch that gives the orb in the ghost house level. he can beat the level fastre with it

@andrewg1990 But technically you have beaten the record that's up on SDA. The record they have is 10:59, and yours is 10:34. It may not beat the world record, but it beats the record posted up on SDA.
