I just beat this last week for the second time (the first being originally in 2007) and I got 156/256 cards. But I gotta say, this was probably the scariest part in the game when the void devours the entire kingdom and world and you return to Flipside to find that the door still exists only to find an empty white landfield left after the cataclysm. It reminded me of that Spongebob episode where Squidward time travels and breaks the time machine where he ends up in an empty white background with nothing but a few echos and squares that disappear when lifted. Talk about nightmare fuel but that was one of the best episodes!

Let's see... Toads are systematically captured and their life force is sucked from them, an evil alien race takes over the mushroom kingdom, a giant yoshi alien monster eats every single Yoshi (though they do survive...), two prominent characters are turned into brainless mushrooms, and then there's the atmosphere, the music, and the ruins of Toad Town just make me shiver at the very sight. Seriously, listen to Hollijolli Village and tell me that Super Paper Mario is still the darkest. The final boss is probably one of the most monstrous creatures that Mario has ever fought. It's hard to do it justice. Play the game for yourself if you really want to see.

This is actually my favorite of the Paper Mario games. To think that some people like Sticker Star more because it's more "traditional" (which is bullshit) makes me cringe. At least this game keeps everything BUT the turn-based combat and it still has everything else people want in a Paper Mario game: experience, partners, items, variety of enemies that aren't just from the Mario platformers, Pit of 100 Trials (well that debuted in TTYD but still) tons of side content, post-game content, etc. Sticker Star has turn-based combat but NONE of that other stuff. The dark story, though, is the main reason SPM is my favorite. The villains beat out every other Mario villain except perhaps Fawful. The whole premise is just so unique and special for a Mario game, that's why I love Super Paper Mario so much. Such a damn shame it gets overshadowed in nearly every Paper Mario debate I've seen ("Sticker Star is okay, but it's no TTYD or Paper Mario 64," etc etc)

I also like the fact that this game acknowledges that bad things do happen and that sometimes you are powerless to stop them. Most Mario games just stroll along with a happy-go-lucky attitude. The princess was kidnapped? Whatever...we all know that Mario will get around to saving her. But when a world is not only threatened to but ends right before your eyes, it becomes a little more difficult to "grin and bear it".

there is a way you could do that in three hits or less chugga. BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR LVL : Be bowser and eat one of those meats that increases your attack strength as soon as the battle starts. then jump on her head before she summons the rupees. it usually only works for two hits. but it is possible to land a third hit. if you do this she is finished. :)

This game has some of the most unique atmosphere. It reminds me of majoras mask but not as strongly or excitedly scary! Either way both games are 2 of my favorites. I grew up with the wii and my friend has a N64 so either way I'm glad!
